I'd have Norman in for insurance...West Coast talls are better than the Bulldogs and are in form. Johnson would be the one I would leave out, he is a good pack worker and I like him but its horses for courses. Johnson lacks pace and the Weagles midfield is quick so I would want to have some quicker options...Wiggins should probably come in as he has some speed and we may need some more options if Cousins/Judd/Kerr etc get control.
Players like Mcgrath who have done the job on players like Hahn may get caught out pace wise against West Coast and i think we have to look at having plenty of backup plans for different players...

Simmo, Carrazzo and Davies played superb last week, Simmo in limited time. Johnson will be dropped from my team for Kouta, if Johnno is in the team for hard balls gets and clearances, then replacing him with Kouta is not really a backward step now is it?

Norman will play, there wasn't really a match up for Karl last week, hence the limited time.

I cannot see any other change to the team, Wiggins will just have to miss this week as I don't see anyone else to make way for him. Good problem to have considering Longmuir, Waite and Fisher are out also.

McGrath on Kerr
Bannister on Judd
Sporn on Embley
Cousins and Stevens head to head
Campo and Braun head to head

Nah, Johnno is one of those players too good for the lower levels but not quite at AFL standard. When the list is full & up & running, there is no room for him. He gets his hand on the aggot enough, but am not sure he has the reflex speed to get the ball out. I'd much prefer they give AB a go than Johnno, although I understand that Johnno is better looking. Johnno is on the outer; round 22 last year plus round 2 of the Wizzer, he's the insurance policy on the list.

That being said, if Kouta can't make the grade for fitness then I'd keep Johnno in, its clear that AB won't get a go.

For mine, In: Kouta, Wiggler; Out: Johnno, Cranage

ps couldnt pick a second out so selected Cranage just to make sure he's not out there for us. I still cant believe he played for us.

I agree with Molsey, Johno gives way this week.
He can win the ball but not enough for my liking.
Our biggest deficiency is "first touch" at the stoppages.
Thats where Kouta excels. It doesnt neccesarily appear in the "contested ball" column or clearances but its the most important stat to me.

A player who reads the ball off hands and has the vision to dish of to a running option is rare as hens teeth.
Carrazzo had more first touches in 15 minutes of centre square work than anyone. His ability to stay composed and use the ball to advantage was excellent.
He has more strings to his bow than Johno as well eg. small back pocket, tagger.

I agree Simmo did some good things last week but he needs to work on his defensive game. Cooney smashed him in the first 15 minutes last week. I thought he was fortunate not to get dragged.

My team, I give Johnson a rest and bring in Kouta but only if he's 100%

Just to set the cat amongst the pidgeons, I'd give Prender a run in the VFL as well. His inability to nail down a position is a luxury we cant afford.
His ruckwork is sub par which is fair enough but he's not getting the ball around the ground.
I'd give Bryan another run. Actually I'd give Carlos a run but I know thats not going to happen.

Its no good trying to shut West Coast down with full blown tags.
If we cant win our share of ball, we're in big trouble.
Stevo has been a free wheeler to date and most others have tagged.
I'd let Kouta or Carrazzo go head to head with Fletcher and make Stevo accountable for Kerr.
