Damn, I hope we don't have another will-he-won't-he saga like last year.

Doesn't sound too serious but neither did last year's hamstring injury.
Lets just make sure he is right for round 1 now.

That really is bad news. That knee just doesn't seem to want to fix itself. Bummer that it always flares up at this time in the season.

As bad as that news sounds, the silver lining is that we have been more than competitive the last two weeks with minimal impact from Kouta.

When he does come back it will be a bonus. We don't depend on one man anymore.

Lets wait till the news today before maing judgements but itis concerning.
Apparently Kouta had no after effects of Fridays training till Sun am.
I prefer he gets a cleanup now then trying to make do with tablets and injections

Its not just his playing abilities, Deano. Kouta to me is the soul of this team. A captain in the true sense that can lift the whole team with his presence and actions. That is impoosible to rep;lace.

Yeah and I think our on field leadership suffered a bit at times. Kouta is really an icon of the team and I think people underrate how important Campo is as well. Lets hope the big fella gets through ok. I am still recovering from SOS retiring

Bloody hell.

Agree Deano it is a positive the way the team has played without him but we will miss his clearances dearly.

Fingers & toes crossed it is not too bad.

Unfortunately I'm starting to look at Carlton as Koutaless in the future. When he plays it's a huge bonus but we shouldn't be counting on him playing every game. Fingers crossed for the Koutaman.

It's difficult to decifer how bad his knee actually is as the club keeps it's cards close to it's chest. I just have a feeling it won't be too bad.
Just the way they are talking about anti-inflammatories and how it's blowing up so long after training.
Anyway I hope he's alright.
Regards Pedro.

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed. :(

As an astute judge said to me, without Campo and Kouta, this is the team to try and take us forward.

Kouta is confused, we told him to break a leg, not a knee.

A knee injury is expected to sideline Carlton captain Anthony Koutoufides for between one week and a fortnight after he visited an orthopaedic surgeon on Monday.

To this point, Koutoufides has avoided arthroscopic surgery, and the club is hopeful the problem can be cured by rest and an anti-inflammatory cortisone injection.

Even if it was something that delayed him for a number of weeks - we really need to be preparing ourselves for life without Kouta.

No intention to belittle the great man here, but Koutas leadership role although important would be a vacuum that would be filled by other(s) presently in the team.

better that we learn now how to win games without Kouta because we will have to learn this in the future anyway.
