Great result . I am selfish I wanted us to win by more. Hoping for good news on Carroll. 9 4 first half 4 10 2nd half Complete domination for the first 15 minutes of the 3rd but failed to hit scoreboard Cripps has 6 brownlow votes the last 2 weeks can't believe people suggesting we trade him for picks but will face that Irish lads next Friday Some poor decisions made by some of the younger players but to be expected Harry has been brilliant the last 2 weeks. Those defensive marks is something we have lacked We are a better side with Hewett in. Pitto still gives to many ruck frees away. Cowan starts games like a man possessed but fades badly Wilson did some good things Frank had a really great first half Isons game could have been off the charts if he converted Jagga regaining form Watching Gov gut run forward was something I didn't think I would ever see Florent is growing in stature Hayward and Ainsworth starting to show something . Can't believe I am saying this but Moir might have been a better selection than Flyn Young. I think Weiters comes straight back in for Derkson Dean is a very angry young man had a good game. Love winning because losing sucks Sent from my SM-F956B using Tapatalk |

Actually disappointed we didn’t finish our work and win by 70+. Imagine saying that two games ago! |

Pros: Nice to finally win at Adelaide Oval against one of the home teams. Ball movement, forward entries and accuracy in the first half. Jagga's best game. Hewett's best game for the year. Best ball use I've seen from Walsh in a while. Cripps, Dean, Evans, Florent, Heywood, Cowan, Wilson, Harry. Derksen looked far more comfortable. Ison exciting again. Also like how we 'flew the flag' in defence of teammates. Cons: Inaccuracy in the second half. Carlton players being shoved out of marking contests and not receiving frees. Carroll's injury. Need more from Cerra. Liked Young's effort, but didn't have much impact. |

Great player but my gosh Port are over reliant on JHF. Gets even worse for them if Butters goes. Ison Cowan Wilson were the shining lights for me, especially the first halves. Apart from that dropped mark, Cowan was an absolute gun last night after a bit of a meh season so far. Sent from my moto g54 5G using Tapatalk |

Small summary of some interesting 2026 stats; 2026 handball average 159, this game 182 2026 average clearances 33, this game 27 and stoppage clearances 21 to 16 (also lost both to Port - interesting as Cripps dominated) 2026 contested possessions 132, this game 114 and uncontested 230 to 271. 2026 inside 50 efficiency 51%, this game 64% Seems the game change is occurring and the boys are doing well with the changes. |

The only reason you'd trade Weitering and Cripps is if they're not invested... or if we plan to bottom out, again. How we finish off this season will determine what direction we take. |

Continued change in game style with high possession high uncontested mark numbers. Over 100 marks in consecutive games. Cleaner out of the centre with 3 goals from centre bounce and 6.3 from stoppage. 47 points scored from turnover (48 for Port) although Carlton kicked 6.11 from this mode. Jagga's clean hands really important. 52% CBA and high score involvements. Chained possession well with Cripps/Walsh/Hewett. First game this season Cerra has not attended one centre bounce. Seemed to work quite well without him in there. Hewett 68% attendance. Excellent run out of defence from Florent, Wilson and Newman. Haynes and Dean very good. Terrific that Ison, Young and Byrne got in excellent scoring positions. The setup from Ison to Byrne for Byrne's goal was great; could easily have had the shot himself. The butchery was deeply frustrating. Hopefully they learn from that. Ison has kicked 2.5 and Byrne 2.4. Byrne's involvement in marking contests was interesting. I reckon Lai outmarked him about 4 or 5 times in one on one marking contests. Byrne first year Lai second year. |
