L Neale is a two time Brownlow winner but this year McCluggage has been the one doing the damage for the Lions, along with W Ashcroft.

Wonder if the MC will send Cincotta to Zorko who is ranked 3rd in the comp for metres gained per game. Unfortunately the Lions are so stacked that Wilmot or Fletcher could then provide rebound.

And of course they have a lethal small forward group with Lohmann, Cameron, Rayner and Bailey.

Also note that the Lions have got two rucks in the 23 so Fort will probably be spending time forward alongside Morris and Hipwood.

Is kickoff earlier than I thought or is Effes a thread starter, twisted thread starter?

I think getting in before the pre-match thread becomes the match thread/whinge fest.

One possible ray of hope is that Brisbane have been a bit lackadaisical dealing with the nufties... struggled to beat Richmond, struggled to beat * after their talls were all injured, lost at home to nadir Melbourne, drew against Norf. Their only convincing win against a crap side was 45 points vs St Kilda. And we're crap!

Two rucks!!!! I've been told by some at TC that can't work. We should win then.

On a serious side, 2 rucks isn't unusual and becoming a bit of a normal situation again this year. 2 weeks ago 6 of the top 10 teams had 2 rucks. I could have posted in the 2 ruck thread, but thought some posters would be upfront.

I hope those posters who went out of their way to ridicule the thought that 2 rucks would never be seen other that at Carlton under Voss, because its a thing of the past. Now go back to the Adelaide game thread last year, and the 2 rucks thread bender created, check your posts, and say you were wrong, and honestly amazed to be seeing 2 rucks selected week in week out in other teams, along with Carlton under Voss.

There's good reason to play 2 rucks, when one could be part of the 3 headed monster to stretch teams with shorter, or a shortage of tall KPD's, or at the very least insurance incase No 1 ruck gets injured during the game, and god forbid in a Grand Final.

Fancy some posters telling me 2 rucks was a thing of the past, and I'm stuck in the past, and no teams apart from Carlton use 2 rucks again

If we're playing Cincotta as a midfield tag, let the bloke start in the midfield. The theory of him starting half forward and then going to the tagged player is rubbish. It's not as if our midfield is flying and we'll upset their chemistry.
Hopefully Williams gets plenty of centre bounces. He's the one player that looks dangerous in there and can kick the ball.

Carlton haven't won a game with more than 8 out injured.

Tonight we have 10 mising.

We do not have the depth on our list to cover 8 players regardless of their ability (cobined AFL VFL injured players, let alone the following 10 best 23 players:

Walsh, McKay, Silvagni, Newman, Saad, Cottrell, Smith, Hollands, Kemp and Young

Tonight, I'm eagerly looking for a few things:

Did the focus on TDK looking like he's checked out going to embarrass him into effort?

Is Charlie going to act like a leader and take goal kicking, and competing more serious?

Will Cripps compete like he did in 2024 and bring players into the game, or play selfish?

Has Cerra completely lost form and confidence and his ability to compete?

Will Weitering find form, and inspire his team as a leader, to win at all costs, or just look grumpy?

Which kids are part of our future? Carroll, Cowan, Lord, O'Farrell, Hollands, Moir, Young Motlop Durdin?

Heat and microscope is on Motlop, Durdin and Young.

Which of our senior players deserve to play VFL next week, with Lemmey, O'Keefe, B.Campo, Charleson and Boyd champing on the bit to play AFL.

You mentioned this previously. It makes so much sense. Stupid looking for your opponent after the bounce of the ball. Stupid.

Glad to see Chinkas back. Poor fela hasnt done a minute of preseason.

Improvement on last week (according to the ‘death threat’) where we had 23 missing

All those questions have been pretty relevant every round this year.

Pretty sure they've answered them multiple times.

I'm with Syd.

Gonna be a shitshow.

I want our skilled players to show their best tonight. I feel we e seen the best of a few.
Sure pressure from good opposition will hinder them, but you can say that every week.

Our skills vs their skills

Microscope is on our list.
13 contracts to decide on.
