Club is materially broken. Probably unfixable. GW needs to take over NOW. |

Well it’s obvious that the dam wall of mediocrity has been broken Clearly the effort of the players has been good for the season until the last 2 weeks The lack of reward has lead to these last 2 results The writing was on the wall last year with that Final Clearly the list needs re generating and Wright has to change the philosophy of paying blokes huge money who arnt up to it Case in point Port went after Joe Richards last year a player who would still be playing at Wangaratta if it wasn’t the persistent efforts of ex Collingwood player Reid for Collingwood to recruit him Then in a strong team he can’t get the opportunity so Port get him for a bag of chips( pick 58) The guy is desperate to succeed and is a very good footballer Contrast that to Mitch McGovern a guy who cost us 3 players and around 4.5 million It’s a joke So we need to be creative with our recruiting As for Voss I advocated for a tactical person to support him It hasn’t happened The club needs a complete revamp on its culture starting with Priestley stepping down And we go from there when Kinnersly becomes President |

Had vision of 2004. A few retreads, a few oldies , a few kids Fantasia 31 kicks 2 goals Haynes 33 takes 8 marks Lewis Young 26 our marking target forward After 10 years of recruiting this is what we have to show for ourselves SOS Austin Lloyd you failed miserably. This list is out of whack. No way Austin can pull a rabbit out of the hat come years end. Once upon a time we may have had players wanting to play next to the contested bull We were absolutely smothered and snuffed out by speed, desire, intensity, and team work. Charlie 3 behinds still hasn’t started his season Weitering continues shocking form Cripps continues to be beaten by kids Cerra has lost his run SOS is being exposed for pace bc mids are not defending TDK beaten for the umteenth time by his opponent in ruck Vossy has been let down by the players Vossy has lost the buy in to his game plan. Players know they don’t have the skills , speed or stamina to execute plan. Overrated list. Most in media knew this preseason. I knew we didn’t have depth and skills but this is totally unexpected. |

Quote: The problem is the rest of the competition don’t want to play contested football because it doesn’t win games like it did in yesteryear. Port Adelaide avoided contests by keeping the ball off the Blues, using short kicks to cut through their sloppy defence and basically ran rampant at Adelaide Oval. Ironically, the only major stat Carlon won for the night was contested possessions +11. The rest was a tidal wave going Port’s way: +53 disposals, +34 kicks, +19 handballs, +12 inside 50s, +63 uncontested possessions, +45 marks. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/the-tried-and-true-carlton-narrative-is-playing-out-again-after-prime-time-embarrassment/news-story/8baa83a961ccc16c76a258aaf6b64457 Oldest Carlton team since 1944. Our leaders have failed us for most of this year. They have caved in. Soft between the ears. |

Pedestrian and the only aspect of damage they possess is to the club. I doubt any of them would warrant a tag at the moment. The Jagga bet was such a loooooooong shot. We need Jagga and at least 1-2 other senior mids that are damaging and dynamic. |

Thread going off. I turned over and watched the league after 3 minutes when it was pretty obvious that the players were still on strike. I'd flick back occasionally (guess it's like stalking the insta of your ex) and nothing disabused me from that notion. Voss might be the worst coach of all time, but I reckon those in charge need to make a tail v dog decision here, otherwise this is going to continue to happen when people get a little bit sad that they are only getting 80% of the centre bounce attendences. |

It's a long way off but hopefully J Smith can provide some of the qualities that we see from Zak Butters. Cripps was crook but even prior to last night he's been average. Bergman ran off him last night; the opposition love doing that to Cripps. Cerra - 6 disposals in the first half last week, 5 last night. Why does he turn up with what appears to be such a lethargic attitude? |

That is a good point. Maybe Kennedy throwing a tantrum and leaving because of lack of midfield time was the first warning that the playing group have an entitlement issue. Either way, it was confirmed last night that they do. Like I said about a month ago, the club should put all players on notice that they are up for trade at the end of the season and it is up to them to prove they want to stay at the club. |

Austin recruiting has probably cost us more than sos recruiting To give away 2 first round picks and second round pick for jagga was dumb you don’t even give that much up for a star player plus it being such a strong draft surely he could have found 2 kids with those 3 picks |

Looking at our list in Feb/March there is no way anyone being honest could have thought the season was going to go any other way than the way it has. It was bottom 6 then and remains that way. 8 goal losses should be tossed aside like they are for Essendon*, Richmond, North and WC. We are in that group. Our good players are worse than other teams good players and our lower end players are lower than other teams players. That is before you factor in the unbalanced nature of our list and the whole getting the MO wrong for the modern game side of things. Sadly the media built us up after Voss got us overachieving 18months ago. The media did that on purpose knowing a collapse was on its way and that will create a lot of content. Clicks. We can turn it fast with some bold clever trading. Nights like last night can make that easier for those emotionally attached to big name players. |

You would almost think it’s sabotage. For all we know Jagga Smith could turn out to be the next Paddy Dow. No guarantees on an 18yo kid Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Id also suggest that a lot of the players are missing Andrew Russell whom they all loved. Perhaps his axing, along with Kennedy and Owies cut deeper than we think. Not that I am on the players side here. Id rather a complete list overhaul than change coach again. Ideally both Coach and players go but if I had to pick one id take players go first. |

I have got the Flu at the moment . Rarely get crook so its a bit of a surprise to me . I tell ya , its knocked the bejeezus out of me . And it was so obvious Paddy Cripps had the dreaded lurgey and it showed in his game . Such is the calibre of the man rather than take the easy way out he fronted up and battled on manfully as usual . Weiters was on one leg . Jack was on one leg . No wonder we copped a flogging when you are so severely depleted . .......................... I really am not surprised all things considered that we got beat . What I am surprised about is the way over the top reaction to it . Hard to pull your socks up when you aint wearing any . |
