Be interesting to see what we do with small forwards in light of Frankie's late season form. Other than Motlop, they've all showed a bit at different stages. But none of them can be counted upon to contribute regularly.

Agree Pies and several other club have a great culture, team elements that allow such diligent list management. There are multifaceted reasons for all our woes. These have evolved over the last 3 decades it will take an operator with integrity , determination to do what’s best for the club and gradually begin reshaping our path forward positively, we’re a mighty long way back to a modern football operation. Let’s hope Graham Wright is the one

I just checked his AFL tables and the good news is that his goal kicking accuracy is perfect: 7 goals, 0 behinds. In fact, he's only had 16 kicks in his career (8 games) so he must be setting some kind of efficiency world record!

Max G: 99.60 in 42 VFL games. Liam Mc: 87.39 in 40 VFL (Carlton) games. Some might remember, it was Max who stopped to scoop up a completely gassed Lewis Hayes in the 2km time trial at that year’s combine. And, if you remember that, you would also recall that he went into that draft as a defender.

He’d done nothing to warrant the cum-fest and I could see where it was going to end up. The best player in the comp was at his feet, but he was always taking the easy option in the contest and that made him easy to beat. Back shoulder, try and jump over. He kept giving ground to find separation. Never once tried to win it. He played some good footy, in patches, over the last couple of years. But, his opposite number was always in the game. They’re stronger, better athletes & more damaging footballers. Some of you still think he just needs more time.

I don't mind Austin but think SOS had too many "misses" e.g. from the draft SPS, Dow, O'Brien, Setterfield, Stocker, Kemp and giving up too much for McGovern and Marchbank.

There’s a 45th spot on offer with O’Farrell being LTI. Evans, Young & White will get their chance to win it.

Don’t think Braddles was on third year wages in 2002 at almost 39. The two oldest blokes on our list would be on similar money - and they’re three-four contracts behind Pendlebury and Howe. Haynes will be 34yo next year. Newman will be 33. Saad, Williams & McGovern will be 32yo by season’s end next year. Awful, AWFUL recruiting (for all the reasons we’re only too well aware of) through the early 2010s meant we had to buy experience in the early 2020s. The 2014 class will be 30yo next year. Of the twelve blokes on our list that would (if they survive) fit that profile, we drafted just one. The filth will only have five more in that category (again, if they survive) & they drafted six (eight if you include Cox & Mihocek). It’s not so long ago, that group nearly broke the club. Shit club, shit development, shit players, shit happened. That’s just the way it is. We can’t wave a magic wand to make a dozen 200 gamers appear.

Someone has to set the tone . President and CEO , and it flows down from there .
