I was the same and then I went last year.

Gather round is a normal footy round where every team plays. It also gives us an extra round of footy.

Opening round is a farce. It may have been a sell out but the return games in the ‘normal’ season with the same teams playing each other attracted bigger crowds …not only that, it really stuffs up the fixture, gives teams breaks when they least need it and disrupts the ladder …always playing catch up.

Give us another gather round II will give us another round of footy, not another bye.

Whilst I’m on th3 subject of byes, FFS can the AFL Commission show some respect to the VFL and give them only one bye mid season instead of byes all over the place. Players need continuity and games to show their wares to press for a spot in the AFL team.

Just have AFL 2s and play them as curtain raisers. Job done.

So obvious.

And with 19 teams, surely we have to add another round of play. Play more teams more than once.

Why do they sell everything at once? Why can't they have staggered days/times for the different games?

I have 10,000 people ahead of me in the queue.

Want to revise that crowd estimate?
I think it might have to do with selling the Adelaide Oval games in packages. But, yes the Norwood and Barossa games could be down at a different time you would think.
I’m 24,000 and they was going in at 10am Adelaide time.

Zero logic in how this is rolled out.

Same here. 2 hours after being timed out I get a confirmation text. Still not convinced. This ticketing set up is a shambles.

I chose carlton support area, it really limited how many bays were available - who are they selling these seats to?
