Ffs.

If its just a clean out then he will be back in training within 4-6 weeks - assuming No issues post op.

Plus the time out due to the golden staph infection he picks up in the hospital…

Too much to expect that we could make it to Christmas without injuries requiring surgery.

For the average athlete a knee clean up is minor.
However when you have had your knee completely rebuilt i can't see it being minor.

I have a bad feeling about this

I think little Durdin already knocked that option out with his shoulder

Can’t not pin it on him either.

Unless there was a different Director of High Performance at the club overseeing injury management?

I reckon he’s a fraud, Mick… but, that’s my bias coming through. Too much Clarko in the bloke for me to ever give him a fair go.

Tell us what you really think Cru.

I can't judge Russell, but there's a lot of Carlton people who were pointing the finger at him as the main reason for our injuries.

He's gone now, along with a bunch of the injury prone players. There's still a couple of those to clear after the next year or two.

How’s the Venn diagram looking for injury prone and/or poorly managed?

Look… he’s gone, and we move forward. But, let’s not pretend that the near-perfect success rate of blokes going outside the club for injury management & rehab didn’t happen.

Add to that, the gains made by fit & healthy players (Cripps, for example) going outside the club for strength & conditioning.

Anyway, he’s gone now & the new bloke will be working hard to shorten the usual ‘breaking in’ period - without breaking bodies.

 I can pretend. Glad its behind us now....especially the "breaking in" period.

Yes , the odds are shortening dramatically on McMahon getting a rookie spot .

I mean, it’s not unusual to be limping immediately after knee surgery even for a clean out, right?
