Players who have had post season surgery aren't many:

Acres-back
Durdin- shoulder
Charlie-Ankle
Fogarty- shoulder?

Cerra- saw Hamstring specialist in Dubai

Anyone else?

funny but sadly some realism to that comment also.

pls see my chiropractic at NFL clubs comments in List Management thread :-). back surgery for a 20 something year old is really questionable in my book. there’s better options to investigate first. ie Gonstead Chiropractics (i don’t have equity in any clinics!! wish i did though, it’s probably more lucrative than GP, lots of occupations are hence the lack of GPs, and less intense than becoming a surgeon!) .

He probably fell asleep on the couch after a few beers, mentioned that he slept funny and his back was a bit sore, and off he went.

the new medical imaging lab on Royal Parade has been promised 25 scans a week in the off season and 35 in the season, along with 50% of them resulting in surgery referrals to their mates over the road wielding the knives and stitches.

was his first year as junior with injuries they say. think the was an ankle or something round one of nationals? then something else. no knee issues thankfully. though having said that i’m sure Andrew Russell can advise a way to do it in preseason.

if you aren’t breaking a few million dollar bods, what kind of preseason do you think yer playin’ at?

FOS made it back in time for the combine tests and belted it out of the park for vert jump, sprints, endurance etc etc. looks a gun. but what happens with North’s pick 2? will they trade down? should we be trying to get it (very unlikely i’d have thought, our cupboard is bare unless we can promise them a player in the midseason draft or something dodgy :-) )

Don't be alarmed.

All good news from training yesterday for players who are recovering from ops and injury.

Quote:
It was a long-awaited return to the track for Jack Silvagni that excited the fans at IKON Park, with the forward joining the team for drills and running sessions.

Silvagni looked fit and firing in his bid to be available in 2025 after missing all of 2024 with an ACL injury.

Quote:
The full squad is expected to return to training next week, with the club optimistic Charlie Curnow is tracking well on his return from ankle reconstruction surgery.

Quote:
After undergoing back surgery, Blake Acres completed running inside as he pushes towards full training in the new year.

Quote:
Following an interrupted pre-season last year, [Weitering] moved freely and looked to be as quick as ever, reading the play and spoiling a kick intended for his opposition in developing prospect Harry Lemmey.

Understand Charlie Curnow is scheduled for minor surgery on his knee. It's considered a clean out - nothing major - but will rule him out of the club's pre-season trip to Queensland.

@CarltonFC
still expect him to be fit for the start of the 2025 season. Details tonight on @9NewsMelb

Minor which means he'll probably miss 6 games at least.

If its just a clean out then he will be back in training within 4-6 weeks - assuming No issues post op.

CARLTON utility Alex Cincotta will undergo surgery next week to correct a hip issue.

The 27-year-old has been unable to train over the last week due to the injury, with further specialist consultation this week confirming surgery would be required.

Cincotta is expected to be sidelined for the next four to five months, with the aim to be available to play early in the season.

In regards to the Club’s existing rehab group, Charlie Curnow, Blake Acres (back), Corey Durdin (shoulder), Matthew Cottrell (shoulder), Jack Silvagni (knee) and Matt Duffy (knee) are all on track to integrate back into training during January, as part of their individual preparations for the start of the season.

Curnow will remain in Melbourne next week during the Club’s pre-season camp on the Sunshine Coast, after confirmation a small clean-up of his knee would be required.

The Club has made the proactive decision to complete the minor procedure early next week, to ensure Curnow’s availability for the start of the season will not be impacted.

Hey, a spate of 4-5 month surgeries is a step up from multiple ACLs, keep this up and a single digit injury list could one day be ours!
