They certainly just turned up for a jog around the park. Pressure rating hit 240 for a while in the 3rd qtr then it was through the motions. The good old slump top sides have.

That was an unenjoyable watch.

We looked lazy and disinterested for a lot of the game but did enough in the 3rd to win it.

A few sore boys and a short turn around will make selection interesting. If Acres misses Bonn’s gets a run and hopefully Boyd and Gov are both fit.

Weiters was great, Hewett should never play ressies again, Fog brought pressure all day, Charlie good, TDK battled hard and I thought apart from the missed goal, Ollie was good. At least 3 times he ran in to spoil a ball across the line.

Cripps being Cripps is just a given these days - clearly BOG again for mine.

Walsh and Cerra both struggling

Pros:
- TDK survived injury scare
- Weitering and Saad did enough to cover for inadequate support
- Charlie, Fog
- Cottrell far more involved, 19 pozzies
- Ollie busted a nut
- we somehow won with one ruck :P

We didn't lose despite looking like it.

Wins a win. Take the points and run

It’s a long season. Just gotta hope we stay healthy and hit form at the right time really. We know our best is good enough. But our worst is worse than most

Who was on one leg.

We lose that game without TDK.

feels not quite like a loss, but still not a win. we basically played 1 qtr today where are pressure was anywhere near our brand. and it was just enough

how on earth the afl schedulers make us the last game of the weekend, and the first of next. that's pretty rank. and of course we are the walking wounded. i think we had 6-7 guys who were really sore. how many will be in doubt Vs port?

tdk
walsh
acres
saad
kennedy
durdin

As Weiters pointed out after the game, Port having to travel pretty much cancels out the extra day's break. No excuse.

Its not the end of the world but you've got the premier defender and premier midfield but still get opened up by the effectively bottom side. Some concerns

Based on gut feel, I reckon Durdin, Walsh and TDK will be out for Port. With any luck we should have a reasonable bunch of players to consider for inclusion...

Pittonet
Gov
Kemp
Boyd
Marchbank
Cuningham*
Fantasia
Martin
Binns
Young

Mixed emotions. On one hand I'm happy to bank a win which we desperately needed. On the other hand if I'm being honest North Melbourne deserved to win. They had a few moments of poor discipline and lack of composure. But realistically, I think they played better than we did. Those moments I mentioned cost them the "upset" win. Five day break to our next challenge against Port. Thankfully that's in Melbourne. But scratching my head why on earth Friday night footy would be scheduled at Marvel rather than the MCG. Anyway bring it on!

If it helps boost people's spirits, that was Norf's 2nd heaviest defeat since the r12 bye, heaviest in Victoria :)

Travel isn't a thing these days. not Adelaide/Perth → Melb/Syd anyhow. similar climate.

West Coast ran a myth for as long as they could that travel days were costing them in fatigue and wins, when they knew full well by the second year that it wasn't an issue at all for their players. past players and coaches have said they did it to psych out oppo players flying to Perth games.

Weiters is ever the diplomat.

The ups and downs of a season. We turned up for 15 mins and that was it.
