Ok, so I might be getting ahead of myself here, but was wondering on the weekend about the impact of home and away games, particularly in finals.

I was at the Essendon* game and noticed how different it was being an away game. This raised the following questions:

- If we have a home final do we (Carlton Members) have a higher proportion of tickets issued?
- Is there some sort of AFL makey uppey formula used
- Does it depend on who we are playing, eg. vs Swans we have 70% of tickets but vs Pies it's 50/50?

We should get some sort of advantage by finishing higher and 'hosting' a game, it could be the difference in a close game.

Good question and I've often wondered the same thing.
At the preliminary final at the Gabba last year there was at least 40% Carlton member allocation however for home and away matches it is probably more like 10-15%.
Probably an AFL makey-uppey rule.

Good question. There was def more. Carlton supporters than Melbourne for the semi and that was their home final.

For a start on ticketek you can use your membership barcode to indicate your entitlement but still select the other team for seat options.

As far as I know finals are just purchased through ticketek or ticketmaster. Members get priority to purchase them but it seems that each club has their own bays sold. Not sure if these are sold first and any members who miss these areas are then sold other sections. There is always tickets for the General Public the next day so I assume any member can purchase a ticket.

Yeah but how is the portion allocated to each club calculated?
