Whether fair or not, we've always had whipping boys as fans.

Inspired by the current incumbent, Messrs Plowman and O'Brien, we've always needed someone.

The ones that spring to my mind...and we've had plenty to choose from in recent times.

Awwwwwwwwwwww Stevens
Simon Beaumont
Dylan McLaren
LIVO
206 Warnock
Bret Thornton

but even going back to the 80s I remember at different times Dorotich and Minton-Connell being guys that would frustrate those around us at the footy.

Who else can we add from years gone by?

How did I forget Hoops....

I've long held the view that Michael Firrito is the worst player to play 200 games, but my North supporting friend reckons Houla took that mantle.

This one needs the matching thread - players who always got better in supporters eyes the less first grade they played.

So, Luke Mitchell as an example.

Jordan Russell was the first one to come to mind, but another Jordan of the Doerring variety was up there... especially after he blew his moment against Hawthorn to give that hack Dixon a shot after the siren. Deer in the headlights stuff

This could be broken into different categories - the unfairly maligned (eg. Hoops, Plowman) and the fairly maligned (eg. Ackland, McLaren).

I also go with Jordy Russell except for the one super match he played against Geelong and gave Stevie Johnson a thrashing. I was there!

Early on in his career Fraser Brown wasn’t very popular around those seated on the second level of the Pratt Stand.

For at least one current - look up at the banner. The male up there is always in the crosshairs.
