It's like someone said earlier, get the crowd to submit their footage. Captain throws down the challenge flag (maybe it could be a glove full of gun powder that explodes when he throws it down and demands satisfaction). Then the crowd gets 60 seconds to submit their camera footage. It'd be like phone a friend but you have 50,000 friends. Of course, with the rapid advances in AI you'd need to be wary of deep fakes, so the AFL should train dogs to sniff them out. Use rotties for the job, that should scare the crowd straight.

Let's just skip straight past all the bullshit and just have AI simulate all the games and results

The ball was obviously touched given the player’s reaction
You can tell if the players are trying it on or truly believe it’s touched by body language
The captain goes to the designated umpire in charge to challenge that the ball was touched in flight
They are allowed to challenge once in a game regardless of the result
With all the score reviews having more than one challenge disrupts the flow of the game too much

Now rip it to shreds because imagine if Carlton were on the receiving end of that non call on Grand Final day
