That used to be such a great part of the game. I did that for the Nicky winmar game at Collingwood

Was a long time member (social club with reserved seat), even when I could t afford it.

Club chose to make changes to my membership which I thought were contemptuous at best. I decided that I wouldn’t contribute anymore.

Now I’m too old and stubborn to go back.

There are so many in same boat as you Des.

Some of my cousins who were rusted on reserve seat members since the 90's and throughout our worst period were shafted.

I spoke with the new Marketing Manager 5 years ago in the hope we could entice them back, and he wanted to fix the problem, but when your seat is given to someone else and you have to disrupt the newbie, it can't be undone.

It wasn’t the seat, it was the approach. I still believe they were happier for me to not renew them they were to have me move.

It’s done with now.

Not quite the same but that's how I got to experience the 99 prelim.
With a mate we sat in his car outside the MCG listening on the radio.
At 3/4 time we went in and up to the top deck of the old Northern stand, somehow found two empty (almost front row) seats.
Magic!
Felt like we watched a whole game that last quarter was amazing.
Thanks Lance, thanks Browndog.
One of the greatest days ever beating those cheats.

And also I can't stand all the fake noise at the footy. The advertisements, the music, but mostly what ever idiot they have out there at half time running a stupid competition & shouting inane shit that we used to not have to put up with. That used to be quiet time when you could talk to a mate or read the record in peace.

Rant over

Nah… keep going.

That stuff drives me absolutely nuts.

It’s unbearable.

Yes, nailed it, CK. I shouldn't feel tortured by that baloney when attending games.

I think the worst stunt is 'oblivious cam' - people getting picked on for trying to ignore it all. Hilarious. I'm just waiting for someone to give them the finger. Maybe it'll be me. (Probably not, as I usually duck out the back during the breaks for some quiet.)

Oh, for the record, I try to go to all the home games, as per my membership, especially the G.

I always assumed it was something they just did here in Sydney and maybe Brisbane to gee up the rugby folk. Sad that it's infected the heartland.

They're enhancing the match day experience or something like that apparently

The music in between goals at Adelaide oval completely sucked the atmosphere out of the game.

I thought the Geelong game was being played at GMHBA, but circumstances align with it being at the G and I should be able to get to the game. Hopefully they're knackered from playing in the rain at the Gabba.

We haven’t played the kittens at Geelong for years.

I did that at the Carlton v Bears game at Princess Park in 1989.

Didn't we also have a covid win there? Eddie Betts contributed well

True that. I'd forgotten as I quite like it as an away game but obviously didn't go to that one
