TDK…Cripps…whole team.

Great job.

We were first to the ball nearly all night and had extra numbers at the contest.
In the first quarter and half Brisbane sat off us applied pressure on the bloke with the ball and we coughed it up and they murdered us with run and spread.
2nd half Brisbane played same tactics but bigger bodies around the ball meant we didn't cough it up as much got it in long and Charlie put on a show.

I thought Young held his own which was good to see.
Williams was brilliant first game back.
I thought Cunningham and Fogarty applied good pressure.
Cripps did what Cripps does.
But the night belonged to Harry Charlie Acres Hewett and Kennedy.
Special mention to TDK I think he got better of Big O.

I wish that Mcluggage was in Carlton colors he kept them in it when they looked shot

Pros:

Astonishing win against that opposition at that venue after that start.
Harry, Charlie, Cripps, Fogarty.
Young was good.
After an awful 6 quarters, Kemp's last 6 quarters have been pretty good.
Williams first half.
Break out game for Carroll in the second half.
McGovern and Cerra also had a good second half. Cuningham also pretty good after half time.
TDK was beaten, but we was far more competitive against McInerney than our rucks usually are.
Liked what I saw from Fantasia.
Carlton crowd.

Cons:

First quarter continuation of our limp preseason performances.
Still conceding too many marks inside 50s and marks inside our defensive 50.
Not enough from Newman and Owies.
Oli was poor.
Neale seems to be allowed to drop or throw the ball when tackled.

Loved the way Charlie and Crippa were pumping up Harry after the game. Terrific leadership.

For me the most telling part of the night besides the come from behind win from 46 down was Voss' celebration when H took the mark with 2 mins to go.
He knew. He believed

high praise mr k!!!

what makes you say that? serious q, not trolling

46 points down playing a venue that no team could beat the home team the year before
Weitering and Walsh out
Docherty out at Half Time
Playing a seriously good team
Says it all

Amazing win against all odds.
Hewett, Crippa, Harry, Charlie and Acres were the best for mine. Super happy for Williams and TDK who also stood up as the lone ruckman against the BigO - big growth moment for him. I also thought Cunningham played one of his better games. The backline held up under sustained pressure and esp the last few minutes! I wonder how many VFL games it will take for Weitering to earn his spot back :-D
Now, we need to frank that with a win against Richmond before we hopefully start to get some players back after that. That won’t be easy.
I am concerned about Docherty (knee - meniscus?) and Hewett (punching Neale in the face, which he totally deserved and it ricocheted off his shoulder but worried the AFL will want to set a precedent).

It’s 3.45am in Perth and I’m wide awake. Still can’t believe what we did last night.

Best undermanned home and away win since we beat Geelong in round 18 - 1981.

I was just thinking about this. I don't remember that game because I was only 4. But for me, I'd say best H&A win since we knocked off Essendon** in 2001 without SOS, Bradley and Kouta who were all late withdrawals

I recall Sheeds saying in his post match press conference after that game that our late outs unsettled his side lol

Good summary however I would also include Hewett as a positive - he had a great game and stood up early when the Lions were on top.

Also a massive shout out to the Blues brothers bay. That looked so good on TV. Would have taken quite a bit of organising so well done to whoever did it.

Yep I noticed this too. Voss had confidence that Harry would get that goal. So good to see. Harry was so proud and so were the boys of him.

Beautiful stuff…….
