I know it is only March but i cant help but get excited about the year. Last year we restored our credibility with 10 wins. To make the finals we only need an extra couple of wins on top of this. Where will our improvement come from? Well how about this list 1 - Lance is back and firing 2- Fevola looks fitter and therfore able to cover more ground 3- Livingston looks as if he may have finally arrived. With Luke taking the big FF of the league, Thornton will be more creative from CHB. It also means Teague wont have to take the opposition's second best forward. 4- More run through the midfield as the team is more confident in each others abilities. 5- The general improvement of last years new players as they have become acclimatised to Pagans new system. Stevens, Scotland, Bannister, McGrath should all be better players because of this. 6- The improvement of Barnaby French who can now be relied upon to take the big mark in defence or forward and to be an important link man when we attack. 7- The improvement in Walker, Waite, Sporn etc 8- Extra depth, no longer will players be expecting to play, with the likes of Chambers, Longmuir etc the fight for midfield spots will drive those incumbants to work harder to guarantee themselvesa position. Now ask yourself, have the other teams we are competing against for final 8 spots improved this much?? Essendon*, Melbourne, Sydney, Kangaroos, Collingwood do not have this improvement in them... Who knows what this year brings......BRING IT ON!!!! |
