I posted this elsewhere - but could we emulate the West Coast side that won the flag in 2018?
They seemed to have a 'predictable' game plan that revolved around 2 key forwards (Kennedy and Darling). Also they didn't have quick skillful midfielders (remember Gaff was suspended for the finals) and relied heavily on the the clearance work of Shuey, Yeo and Sheed. It is also worth mentioning that both Naitanui and Shepherd were injured for the finals.
I realise that they had a strong settled defence with McGovern, Hurn and Barass however with a bit more luck with injuries could we field a comparable side?

Given he can’t get a game at the Bulldogs, would Lobb be a decent option?

Offers a lot more forward than Pittonet. We could run he and TDK without losing forward presence

I'm happy with that... A very good and important player... Excellent delivery by foot and we should exploit it more than we do now

Go Blues!

According to The Age today, Carlton are chasing Will Hayward from the Swans, and clubs are circling Martin who is out of contract. Thoughts? I'd be inclined to say "see you later" to Martin, 29yo and we all know his injury history.

I like Martin, there’s not many players like him. I wish he was fit far more often (obviously) but if we could get him at the right price for another couple of years….hes the sort of player that wins you a final.

Hayward would frustrate a lot of our supporters, another that goes missing for chunks of the game.

Martin averages nearly 15 disposal per game over career whereas Hayward as just over 11

As does Martin, maybe we can get them both and they can hopefully string four quarters together between themselves.

If we land Hayward, that’ll be four additions to the primary list & three rookies.

Primary: Ben, Lucas, Boyd & Hayward

Rookie: Duffy, MSD #1, MSD #2

Akuei, Mirkov & now Boyd should be the rookie deletions.

The primary list is less clear.
