I grabbed a coffee in the 1864 Cafe yesterday where I noticed him sitting alone having a bite to eat, so I can confirm he too exists.

McGovern played almost every game last season it think. I am pretty sure the penny has dropped for him so I wouldn’t include him with the others.
With Martin, Marchbank and Cunners, no point chopping them if there isn’t anybody better available. We might have ended up with another couple of picks in the 60s who aren’t going to add anything to our list.
Marchbank, Cunningham and Martin were instrumental in our run to the prelim last year.
I get the frustration, but cutting them from the list isn’t going to improve our position on the field. We need them until others can step up and take over their positions.

Trouble is, I could see Martin and McGovern being instrumental in winning a GF (if we/they can get there).

Agree with most of what you wrote 17th. I almost didn't mention McGovern, as he had a pretty good year in 2023, but one swallow doesn't make a summer, and here we go again. The other three? Yeah, we need them if they're getting on the park, but they aren't very often.

My thinking on this is much the same as Braithy.

Letting all of them go would be silly. Retaining all of them puts a strain on squad resources. Gotta find a balance. Ideally you'd look at that group of four and decide which two are least likely to contribute and/or are easiest to cover for. Glad it's not my job to make that call.

At least Williams doesn't have a LTI.

He's listed as 4-6. I'd say the're expecting to be ready around round 11, but determine the return date until then.

One thing about Russell and his team, they tend to under-promise and over-deliver. The listed return time is usally conservative
