Any idea when these spuds are AFL will actually release all the details for the fixture? As in actual days and game times? Just having opponent and venue isn't that helpful for planning interstate trips

Yep, thinking of heading up for GWS but it'd be nice to know when

It is a bloody joke. Lots of supporters like to do an interstate trip each year. Makes it so hard when you cannot plan too far ahead and miss flight sales because you dont know when the game is. Not good enough.

Fixture: AFL set to give Vics more Saturday twilight blockbusters

Quote:
The league will release the rest of the fixture on the Tuesday or Wednesday after round 9 to ensure fans have enough time to book flights or lock in trips from round 16 onwards.

No Thurs night games Rd 16-23 but more Saturday twilight given the crowds at our last 3 games.

I like that Saturday twilight slot. Plenty of time to get ready, & it finishes in time for dinner

So do I. Only downside is it is not on free to air so we don't get that exposure.

Fixture's out

Quite a few Sunday games, but given the opposition, not that surprising.

If we're genuine we don't lose a game between round 15 and the first pre-season game next year.

Annoying that we only get one Friday while * are awarded for their supposed contender status with 3 Fridays, yet we play Sunday 4.40pm before our Friday and * Essendon* don't have a single 5-day turnaround.

i hate we play norf on a sunday night, then have 5 days to turn it around for port on friday night.

those 5 day turnarounds do nothing but injure players, imo. afl needs to be better with that.

The 5 day turnaround is weird, also gives North a 6 day turnaround.

It could easily be avoided too, stick the Geelong/WBD game on Sunday 3.20pm, put Freo/Melb at 4.40pm and ours on Saturday arvo - put GWS/GBS on Saturday night as that's literally the best game that day.

i know right. easily avoided.

the same with the dees, they were on 5 days notice and us on 6. it's easily avoided the week before, they just don't seem to be interested in keeping injuries down...

It's also our home game in the worst slot of the weekend.
