Let reassess the woeful Carlton Recruiting
Then - So we started with 16, 65, 73, 91
Now - Carlton: 22, 28, 70, 78, 96
We helped some good lads, but bit players, who weren't in our future plans, get to teams they wanted. Tick
Freed up some cap space. Tick
Grabbed some Irish lads prior to - under Cat B. Tick
Grabbed a former top 10 draft pick, who obviously has AFL skills. It is all up to him now. Tick
Hopefully got enough points via extra 2024 picks for the Twins in 2024 Tick
Turned 16 into 22 and 28. Tick
Yeah/Nah - I think an honest man would say - Fair Enough.

Great summary of the Trading period.
Austin continues his class act which reflects greatly on the new Carlton.
No Dodoro shenanigans. No old world breast beating like Elliot.
Working the other 17 List Managers with respect and within the law of the land is smart.
Every List Manager wants the best for their club.
Austin has done very well.
Adding Hollands is a great move trade given the injury history of Martin and Cuningham.
I didnt like delisting 2 young ones in Philp and Honey, but someone had to go if not the injury prone Marchbank and Cuningham, and Fogarty whose value increased in the 2nd half of the season.
I feel confident in our current list. We are not that far off.
We ran out of puff playing at the Gabba, and we could've pinched it.
I still think the No 1 ruck is the area we need to improve in, and that may still come from Pitto TDK and SOS, but ruck is not holding us back.
We didn't need to make too many changes and didn't create any disruptions to our best 26.
Pressure next year for list spots, let alone team spots, with a dozen coming out of contract and our salary cap will be in great shape at the end of next year.
Now lets see what Austin can do with picks 22, 28, 70, 78 and 96. Hopefully cash them in for 2 great kids, and a huge preseason to take the next step or two in 2024. Its our time.
