Some will say in the circumstances we had no choice. Out of contract, no other interest.
I say that's a crap deal.

even with the bid matching?

I thought this was potentially good for the campo twins plus we get the bombers 3rd rounder upgrade.

this the only thing i can see us getting any benefit from ...

dons future 3rd, dogs future 4th, freo 4th for our future 3rd and 4th?

so none of the trades are off any benefit, unless we finish way higher than all of them?

like seriously dons, freo and bullduds are bottom 4 and we are top 4, is the only way that deal makes a second of sense.

i was happy to do a trade for Dow for Hollands and move on, the above scenario feels like we just got touched up by the old gym instructor behind the shed ...

and if one of the 4th rounders ends up being Hollands it's like 2 pick grades + Holland for Dow.

Seems pretty good to me.

I have to say this................................you lot are mostly sad.

3rd and 4th round picks aren't so much about the # but the points value for future trades, such as the twins. If they turn out alright (just like any pick turns out alright) then the Dow move has been worth it. We are 4 years from checking this fact, I guess.

So let's look at Dow..........Not wanted by the Club. So that is the real discussion point here. Ask Colourman, apparently, he has an opinion on Dow's worth. Along the way maybe have a dip at SOS for picking him in the first place.

His movement frees up Salary space. There were No other takers than StKilda. So the only other option was we say, 'stuff you SOS' and Dow goes into the Freebie draft and we get nothing. Yep, that's a win/win for someone's ego. Not much business sense there at all. That would have been all emotion and no common sense.

Every supporter wants to buy low and sell high, but it doesn't always work that way. The entire system is compromised, and the rules are so Grey it is laughable. Austin is just trying to make the best out the trading maze.

Dow is not the difference between 16 and 17 and everyone on TC, except Colourman, probably understands that fact. Try to remember that in recent years the club picked up Acres, Cera and Hewitt. They go okay.

Regards Cazzesman

I would hope we think we will finish above Bombers and Saints.

It’s about next year’s points clearly, I can’t believe some of the comments here.

Some of you clearly don’t negotiate things daily and are acting like Adrian Dodoro.

We’ll get 10 possies from Paddy when we play the Saints anyway.

So keep calm and carry on.

Is it just me, or did the Dogs make out like bandits in the Dow trade?

I actually think the Saints got the worst deal.

For us and Essendon*, it was kind of just "meh".

And Matty Lappin.

Got a great photo of Agro Jr sitting on Matty Lappin’s lap (see what I did there) at a Carlton family day back in the early 2000’s - don’t think you’d ever get SOS doing that.

why would sos want to sit on matty lappins lap?

In part, the success of the trade depends on us finishing higher than Essendon* next year.

While I acknowledge what you’re saying about the system being compromised, it’s a bit shit that we lost Setterfield & Dow in successive years for basically nothing. And the Fisher trade just made par IMO. It’s not that I rate those guys super highly, but I do think our depth is impacted.
