I went out for breakfast this morning and I wore my Carlton hoodie. The missus looked at me and said why are you wearing that. I said simple, there is no shame in this top today.

It was the craziest season I can remember. The emotional roller coaster was bonkers. It took this team to hit rock bottom to realise its potential. The turnaround was incredible.

Last night hurts. I had genuinely started to believe that we were destined to become one of the greatest football stories of all time. In the end, finishing 5th put us on the wrong side of the draw. The bears don't lose at the GABBA.

Last night as the reality set in, I said we shit the bed. Not sure that's what I meant, but we certainly blew a golden opportunity. We gave up 10 goals to 1 after being up by 5. And it was our contested ball and clearances that failed us. That hurts.

Overall an amazing year, and it was the year my kids truly found their love and passion for the club, and for that I will always be thankful to season 2023.

Hopefully, this is just the beginning of an era that delivers 17 and more.

I fully understand that supporters are united in their want of success - who doesn't want that - but disrespect in that form is not welcome.

100% BDog . Those so called supporters deserve a good punch in the head .

Then we slipped back into being a good side in middling form who somehow found ways to win.
Then we became a great side in average form who won the last few games on heart.

It was, in short, a rollercoaster.
Great summary

I’m with you there. What went on mid season was embarrassing

At least we’re a commercial boon so will likely get some blockbuster games on Friday nights next year.

Which gives us the chance to either really love, or really loathe, the weekend!

Yes , nothing worse than having a weekend wrecked before it has started .

Incredible sight.

Boys got into a close huddle; really tight.

Vossy was heading to the boys till the huddle was formed. He went back to the boundary line and wouldn't go to the boys.

The supporters in unison clapped and cheered like winners. It went on and on.

Special moment. Lions supporters next to me said we were a unique bunch and the best supporters in the land.

That moment was discussed amongst us and guessed its part reflection and part planning for the summer and 2024.

Hairs stood up after a loss. This is a unique crossroad for our club/ team.

I keep having visions of that clown screaming derogatory abuse at Jack silvagni in the players race. It was awful. Its etched in my head as the worst thing I have ever seen from a Carlton supporter (if you can call them that). I wonder what he's thinking about his vitriolic behavior now?

I thought Jack would have left us for sure after that. That was the bottom of the barrel.

What a colossal renaissance to the season.

What an amazing experience for my kids and every other bluebaggers kids.

Swans and Dees crowd was the loudest Ive heard. Brizzy was the most amazing show of support Ive seen interstate.

I believe in the list.
I continued to believe in the list.
I can recall, with regret to a degree, the disgust I had for Steve Silvagni's recruiting after round 12 loss against Effendopes.

The 9 game winning streak was 1995
Like usual I won a lot of money against Carlton supporters, but also lost a lot of money in the Swans game. I thought we would win by 10 goals.

Those 5 games in a row where we won by more than 50 points gave me enough reason to believe we will win the flag.

Then we beat the teams in the Top 8, Giants Pies, Saints, Port and Dees, with many players out with injury.

The spirit amongst the players is real.

The Carlton Phoenix rose and continues to rise.

We are still the talk of the town.

One thing I think we learned this year is that our best 22 is not our best team.

agreed. i was actually very happy after the loss with the way the players stuck together, the way voss handled it, giving the players the space and ownership, he didnt rant and rave etc.. but also understood the moment, and i thought it special to watch the players walk off to a standing ovation by the carlton supporters there. its been some journey this year, but i hope its only a stepping stone onto bigger and better things, but the 2023 finals series will alsways be a specifical memory, despite us not being able to make the final hurdle.

Roller coaster season.

Maybe just maybe that horror stretch of multiple losses in a row, was the "horror stretch we had to have". From the start of the "winning streak", it was evident that by sticking with the "process" "game plan" etc etc, it seemed like wash rinse repeat, BUT the clear difference is that this team came out as a united group, with numerous mental fragilities removed and an insatiable BELIEF that anything is possible and there really is no "I" in team.

Bring on 2024!

we sure are!!!!

i recall getting up early to watch the suns game thinking that if we lost, i would be happy for the suns as i like them like one likes a stray puppy, and if we won i would be happy.

i really didnt expect that turn around and the joy that the rest of the season brought, to the point where i got annoyed we werent winning by more.....

always thought voss was the man, but the players werent truly buying in. then they did and we were 3 goals from a grand final.....

i think the afl should call off season 2024 and just give us the cup already

We deserved to be there.
2 lousy losses in 3 months.

Gonna sting to not see Navy Blue jumpers running out onto the G.

Having to watch someone else get the glory of stopping the meth-pidgeons...

Next year can't come fast enough.
