I randomly stumbled upon this on YouTube today. I thought I’d share it because it is a reminder of what we’ve been through since we were last in a preliminary final. At the time this video was made, it had already been 5 years since we’d played in a preliminary final. We’d just lived through the horror of 2002-2005. Now we were losing our home. Little did we know how much more pain we had to go through. We still had 18 more years ahead of us of false dawns, sacked messiahs, wooden spoons, soulless Docklands performances and heart-breaking losses. What’s my point? Don’t obsess over the outcome of Saturday’s game. Take the time this week to reflect on how far we’ve come since this video was made.
