Blood on the opposite eye makes it seem there is an incident but nothing to see here..
It would be ironic if he gets a week for a strike on Gov in that last minute.

Looked like he was simply trying to pull Toby off. Arms were well below the face. In process his hand slips up around the eye region and he immediately moved his hand away. Clumsy maybe but not intentional at all.

See you next Tuesday Greene
After all you’ve dished out over the years I’d have thought you’d have brushed this off.
What a dog

Cripps rested
Docherty rested
Motlop injured
Cerra first game back
Walsh first game back
McGovern first game back
Acres our BOG then injured
Basically a new midfield compared to last week

If we’d won this I would have been staggered.

i read Motlop was sick (illness) not injured. not sure illness it is — hopefully not anything more than a cold and it’s not going round the club.

All fair points.
Still don't like the loss, but it means nothing in the scheme of things.

…if we beat Sydney

I feel strangely subdued tonight despite us making the finals for the first time in many years. We had to drop one on the way in but my PTSD has been triggered from earlier in the season.
Hope we’re at the G

That was a very ordinary effort, regardless of being locked in for finals, I expected ALOT more from the team today.

I said it earlier, but I would have preferred to play the bulldogs in our final, BUT we get the Swans instead.

BUT, we get a home final, however, will it be at the MCG?

Missed Motlop - averaging two goals last 6 weeks.

Pretty clear the MC weren't desperate for the win. Playing McGovern on Greene ahead of Newman. Harry as 2nd ruck. Kemp and Fisher having stints in our forward line. Etc.

Pros:

Electric atmosphere in the first quarter.
Charlie won the Coleman.
Weiters and TDK were good.
Acres was very good before going off injured.
Walsh had a good first half.
Another 2 goals from Owies.
Cuningham got a lot more of the ball than usual, but gee he was fumbly.

Cons:

Out pressured, out run, out desired. We were very fumbly.
Don't know if it was defensive structures or willingness to run, but we got murdered out the back. GWS seemed to constantly have more players in their forward 50 than we did.
2 dumb 50 metre penalties that resulted in goals from Fisher and Dow.
Forward 50 entries were poor.
We might have had the bounce of the ball in the last 2 finishes. But tonight, every loose ball or bounce or ricochet or line ball decision seemed to go against us.
Injuries.
Cerra looked rusty to me. Missed a number of relatively easy handballs.
Harry, Durdin, Hollands.

Aside from Charlie’s Coleman I think Weiters finished with the most marks in the season.

Well it’s something positive

Looks like our energy level are low. Wilting.
I reckon we did a pre season mid year after it was clear our shit actual pre season wasn't going to cut it. We had a great run off the back of that hitting teams as they were fading but now it is going the other way. Teams are trained up as we are heading the other way. Thankfully I think the Swans are similar. There will be no prelim this year. Hope we nail the fitness and wellbeing side of things this off season.

That was incidental contact by Weiters unlike what Lynch from Richmond did to Saad last year. If Lynch got nothing than neither should Weiters.
