I think this is the group that can win us a final.

[1] Weitering
[2] Kemp + one of McGovern Marchbank
[3] Saad Newman + one of Cincotta Boyd
[3] Acres Docherty + one of Cottrell Hollands
[5] Cripps Cerra Walsh + two of Hewett Kennedy Dow
[2] Pittonet De Koning
[3] Martin + two of Cuningham Fogarty Durdin
[2] Motlop Owies
[2] Curnow McKay

I’d go with:

B: Newman Weitering Cincotta
HB: Saad Kemp McGovern
C: Acres Cripps Docherty
R: Pittonet Cerra Hewett
HF: Cuningham Curnow Walsh
F: Martin McKay Motlop
I: De Koning Fogarty Owies Cottrell
S: Kennedy

Sounds good, Cru. I'd prefer a fully fit Silvagni over Pitto but that seems unlikely to happen. Also I'd say Durdin is out of the picture for this season, so if either of Cunners or Fog were out I'd move Cotters to the Martin group and have Hollands in the Acres group.

Geez….

imagine a fit a firing Durdin running
rampant in the forward line…!

his tenacity is up there with the best…
he can hurt players…!

kindest regards tommi

I’m drinking what you’re pouring tommi.

I hear what GX is saying, and that’s more than likely how it will go (now that the ressies are cooked). BUT it’s like the role was written for him and the other two just happened to be fitter.

It’s the argument for Gresham. Our best (utopian) lineup is one where Fogarty & Owies are the same guy as it opens up a spot for Silvagni without losing any pressure at forward stoppages or punch in the ruck. Durdin is the closest we have to that type of player.

B: Newman, Weitering, Kemp
HB: Cincotta,McGovern, Saad
C: Acres, Hewett, Hollands
HF: Martin, McKay, Cottrell
F: Motlop, Curnow, Owies
Foll: De Koning, Cerra, Dow
Int: Walsh, Fisher, Fogarty, Cuningham

Named Rd 23 side.

Only changes for finals I see are Cripps for Cuningham and Docherty for the unlucky Hollands.

This is our *best* finals line-up based on who has played the most games for the year. This suggests these players were both in form and fit more than anyone else. (Games in brackets)

Newman (21) - Weitering (23) - Saad (22)
Docherty (20) - McGovern (19) - Cincotta (16)
Acres (22) - Cripps (21) - Hollands (17)
Motlop (18) - C. Curnow (23) - E. Curnow (17)
Owies (16) - McKay (19) - Silvagni (16)
TDK (16) - Cerra (19) - Hewett (19)

Young (15) - Walsh (15) - Pitto (15) - Kemp (15)

sub: Kennedy (14) / Cottrell (14)

Impressive work the champ

I can work with that as the backdrop.
If that team is fit on Sept 30, they will win.
The depth is impressive. Thank you Andrew Russell.

I like a mix of class and skill with some inside grunt on all lines, so I'm going with this:

Newman Weitering Kemp
McGovern Marchbank Saad
Acres Cripps Docherty
Owies Curnow Cuningham
JSoS Mckay Martin
Pittonet Cerra Walsh
Kennedy Motlop Fisher TdK
Dow/Hewett

Damn hard on a few like Hollands, Cincotta, Cottrell, Durdin, etc.

Like your concept of grunt. However, the likes of chinky and cotts (possibly hollands) give us some chance of quicker transition. With Kennedy, Sos and marchbank all included we look slower.

Swans usually have 19 on the ground (dressed as an umpire), when in Sydney.

Its pay back time.
