Reserves play prior to main game on Gold Coast

Take whole squad up early. Get some sun and swim in the sea. Freshen up

Do not play Walsh Cerra McGovern etc unless 100% fit

Witts Anderson Miller Rowell Flanders is a very good onball brigade. Ben King may return as well.

There’s going to be some pretty unlucky players over the next couple of weeks

Big time. The only obvious drop for me is Pittonet

If any of our injured stars are ready to play next week, who will be dropped from this winning team?

Curnow E is well past it and is the obvious one. But he is the sub.

Cotterell has been quiet.

Hollands has his admirers, including me, but could be replaced by someone better at this stage of his career.
Walsh can play wing if Dow stays.

Dow has his detractors but has played well since his recall. As for his lousy disposal, he went at 80% tonight
against the dees.

Pittonet gives nothing to the team and is easily expendable when JSOS returns.

Pitto is the obvious one for JSOS or Harry.

Hollands, Dow, Cottrell, Fogarty, Cuningham, Marchbank, Cincotta, Fisher, are probably the ones who will be up for discussion when players return. All would be unlucky to be dropped, but we have players coming back who are obviously automatic selections.

I thought Kennedy might replace Hewett but Hewett has made himself undroppable on current form

Nice problem to have.

Cottrell was quiet but so was Langdon, his opponent.

Walsh McGovern McKay all should be ready for a game.

Not sure about Silvagni. That would make things interesting.

Fish for Gov
Doc for Walsh
....... for Harry

I am heading up for the game.
Looking forward to a few days in warmer weather.
We still have to win, just to make sure we play finals.

Steven King, you're so lucky as an interim coach to be exposed to the new Carlton experience.
Enjoy your Saturday afternoon.

Assuming Walsh needs another week, Doc is ok and DC doesn't get rubbed out, then no change again.

Imagine being Byod, playing career best footy then you cop 3 weeks for a tackle and suddenly your spot is gone.

It's a harsh business. Kennedy was in ripping form before he got hurt. Now Hewett has come in and absolutely killed it. Do we go back to playing both which wasn't working or is he another who'll be unlucky.
There will be a few unlucky ones cos we're due to get most back over next couple of weeks. Who comes in and who misses out?

I’m guessing Walsh in for Cunningham.
Maybe Boyd in for Doc if he’s injured.

If McGovern becomes available one one of Marchbank or Kemp is going to be unlucky.

I can’t think who goes out for both of JSOS and Harry without changing our run too much. Maybe Pittonet but is TDK ready to ruck 75% of the game?

Than the changes for Walsh and Cerra.

Who knows

No way Marchbank could be preferred to Kemp

Yep. At this point I'd keep Kemp ahead of Marchy but a lot can still happen.
I'll continue to defend Fish's spot in the side to the hilt if he keeps playing good footy. If his form dips though he becomes vulnerable.

Walsh and Cerra are no brainers. They're fit, they're straight in for a couple of unlucky ones.

Forward/ruck is where it gets interesting cos with H and JSOS you start to mess with our structures which could be risky. As BV said and I agree with H needs to take that second ruck role. Love to just go with him and TDK. However that may not happen till 2024. JSOS and Pitto likely competing for the one spit. Both offer something different so depends which way Vossy wants to go.

I reckon Doc will miss, they seem to be erring on the side of caution.

Walsh surely comes back.
