I’m getting a 2016 Bulldogs feel about our trajectory. Momentum is everything. Building and peaking at the right time is everything. Bulldogs weren’t the best side of that year. They finished in the bottom half of the 8 but they peaked late and just built progressively through the end of the year and into finals and they swept all before them. And others sides have dropped off and all are beatable.
Dare to dream. We couldn’t could we? Probably not but what a ride over recent weeks
Put $100 on Blues at $10 for the flag after the Pies game.

Yeah similar but we are the best side this year. Dogs were a bunch of kids who jagged one very early in their rebuild.. maybe like year 4 from memory. We’re in year 8 of the rebuild and we are far more developed than they were. We really should have been playing finals for a couple of years now.

At the beginning of 1996 a national survey conducted by one of the Big 4 (not caravan parks) and Carlton was the club with the most support across the whole country. More supporters (not members) supported Carlton in Sydney than any other club. We fkd up after that. Now we are are really back.

Better or equal to the hunger and team buy in to the contest Ive seen in our history. And we have 3-5 big names to come back in for a couple praccy games, we will win, before the bye before The Finals. Hello.

Just got back from the swimming pool, 35 degrees in Lanzarote. Watched the last two minutes replay, that was not touched, so suck it Melbourne. What happened to doc? Did I miss much? Cripps seemed happy. Were we lucky, even though we got a few deliberate out of bounds?

You are in Paradise.

I will pm you for more info re Lanzarote.

You missed more than Lanzarote at the G. Did you hear them? I did on TV, so you must have.

There is times in my life that I would say that I have had a like the sliding doors film kinda moment.

After crashing to 1 win from 9 games. I was thinking - maybe this team should have turned right or similar (a very broad and random reference but bear with me)

The supporters and members were going ballistic (and I was one of them).

Sack Voss, our list is flowered etc etc.

Something clicked because we have now won 8 games in a row. Thats, a flowering superhuman transformation of our beloved football club.

One week at a time, but I really believe we supporters should feel comfortable to dare to dream.

I have fallen more in love with this footy club (if thats possible despite the many many years of mediocrity and pain).

Im almost reluctant to say this for the fear of the potential let down, heartbreak which has been instilled from the ghosts of the past, BUT, I am feeling far more confident in saying our team is the REAL DEAL!

Our time will come.

Our time has come? That is the question.

Feels real. Peaking at the right end of the season.

Voss- Russell take us to the promised land?

He did lift but the thing is that (tap ruck work) is really the only thing he does well. Doesn't get much of it and doesn't kick goals. Doesn't take many marks.

But hey he does hard work in the ruck and let TDK be the more dynamic ruck partner.

The duo works in the toughest environments at this stage of the season, and I'm loving it, and Vossy is trusting his intuition.

Across 4 quarters he was trash. He cost us goals. You can’t take one of 22 positions in the team for a couple of good tap outs.

He just did. And the week before that. And perhaps every time Vossy has had the opportunity to do so with TDK. He says so.
Must be something in it. I have no clue except for that.

I'll add this to the "2023 Team Setting Records" thread but in the post game euphoria worth adding here:

Our 8 games in a row now qualifies us for a Flag.

Only the 1906-07, '47 & '81 Premiership teams failed to achieve the feat of winning 8 games in a row.

That's right - 12 of our Premiership teams All won at least 8 in a row.

In fact, Carlton has had 8 or more wins in a row in 25 seasons for these results:

24 finals series
17 Grand Finals
12 Premierships

So yes, we are 2-1 on for a GF and almost even money for Flag.

and you're not even counting the VFA where it all started. We are ahead of effendoped when we factor the longest living ongoing competitors in the country. We are the Champions.

The review couldn't determine either way, so reverts to goal umpire's call.
The process was followed.

It's not our fault the camera footage is shit.

How good is it to finally put some hurt on these pricks, especially in such millimeter perfect circumstances at the end. They have dished out soooo many annoying, arsey victories to us over the years & there is nothing like a dish best served cold :fight:

Hopefully that costs them a top 2 spot.

This is exactly how I felt CK.

Felt sorry for them for decades coz of good mates, but fkem

Yep and no mention of fact that goal umpire was in perfect position. About a metre from the action, no players obstructing his view. He called it touch and there is nothing to indicate otherwise.

I just don't understand why the AFL doesn't have super slow mo footage (like in the cricket) on the goal lines.
Billion dollar industry relying on $30 webcam for goal reviews.
The Ocean gate of sporting bodies.

The AFL Commission will spend our money on themselves before giving us world class status with coverage, but nah...its all about them keeping us in the dark and them knowing better. Idiots

Speaking of Jezza, I wish our Club could stop the medya from referring to Jeremy Cameron as ‘Jezza’ :banghead:

About time we spoke up.

Win a flag for the "REal JEZZA" this year, whilst he's alive and kicking and that'll stick it right up the imposters
