I was sitting near the * cheersquad the day Kouta did his knee in 2000.

Their behaviour certainly fueled much of my disdain for those cauliflower.

I actually recently found some printed photos I took at the ground at the 99 prelim. Including some shots of Glen Manton for some reason.. did he kick our first goal that day?

Yep, I was at that game - Round 20, 2000.

We had won 13 in a row (but lost the previous week to the Bulldogs by 3pts) and Essendon* had won 19 in a row.

Lost Kouta to the PCL injury in a marking contest with Jason Johnson in the opening minutes of the game and then Bradley not long after with a hammy.

That was the beginning of the end for us. Clearly the 2nd best team of the year and we could beat the Scum on our day, yet it all went up in smoke only a few weeks out from finals....

So depressing remembering that.

Good thing we are going with a small team.

Yes, people talk about the Kouta injury & fair enough, but the Bradley injury screwed us. He was never injured & we just couldn't get it together without him.

With a fit team we could have done Essendon* over, two years in a row.

Amazing stat from last week, is that 178 Saad won his 2 only one on one battles against 203cm King.

I didn't realise Saad was such a shortarse. I've always trusted him to be able contest with the medium sized forwards. Maybe I shouldn't!

That's a hit & miss sprinkle.

A bit slippery at times.

Bring them on.

If its slippery Petracca will be in the midfield and Hewett takes care of him.
Cripps gets it first vs Viney. Oliver will be on the outside ready to run, unless Pitto hits him.

It looks like any rain coming should be just about gone by the time the game starts
