So far 6 games in, all the 'underdogs' - the teams ranked lower on the ladder - have caused upsets:

Carlton 9 d Coll 1
Adelaide 13 d Port 2
Gold Coast 14 d Bris 3
GWS 7 d Footscray 5
Freo 15 d Geelong 8
Syd 12 d Essendon** 11

Should all the 'home' sides win today it will be truly breath-taking historically with every game won by the underdog.

As per post elsewhere, the top 3 all losing last happened in Rd.7 2017 and before that Rd. 15 1999

In fact in 2017 All Top Four teams lost which can be repeated today by Richmond beating Melbourne.

If the hapless Hawks can get up over the Aints then every team in the 8 will have lost except the unavoidable winner of GWS v Foots.

So, can it happen?
You betcha!

Tiges have won 4 of last 5, Dees only 3
Aints travelling very poorly with only 2 wins from 5 and unconvincing at that - 8 pts over each of WC, NM
Really Aints?

The last match, bottom-of-the-ladder battle WC v NM...
are the Eagles due at long last?

But really - who gives a Flying Foxtrot!

Not a clean sweep as would have suited Blues but 7 underdogs winning out of 9 games is most definitely a new AFL/VFL record.

Made it a very engaging round kick-started by the biggest 'upset' of all: lowly 9th placed Carlton knocking of the ladder leaders.

I just wonder how many players this weekend watched that game and were motivated by the example of the Blues' relentless pressure and tackling?

Several teams seemed to have suddenly learned to apply the same tactic in their own upsets!
