I agree. Young & SOS have played some good footy for us but I must admit we looked better without them yesterday.

I think a few people here have said that if things are going well, SOS won't be in our first 22. I'd agree with that. Smart and gritty player, but lacks skill and athleticism; his ceiling is lower than most. Still hope he stays with us for many more years because you know he'll give 100% committed, competent performances whenever needed.

Yes GX , thats what my heart says to me also .

Nice to see Kennedy back to his powerful, bustling best.
Great to see Walsh getting on the outside. He could have kicked 3 or 4 if the radar was on.
Martin looked lively and light on his feet.
Kemp growing in confidence every game. He has way too much talent not to persevere with.
TDK solid
Boyd and Cincotta are very honest toilers that I would stick with.
Cottrell did what Jesse hasn't been able to do of late. Kick goals and apply pressure.
Great to see Cunners back. Fingers crossed he can stay well.
Nice Cameo by Dow for 25 mins.

Regards Cazzesman

My favourite stat for the day? Only 7 backwards kicks.

doc played great - didn't see him in any centre bounces and played a defensive role which is his zone.

cerra is becoming our best. gets lots of footy, slick, classy left or right, always finds a man. i thought it was strange buying him when we already had walsh, but in a way he's overtaken walsh imo

Cripps and Walsh are A graders: winner and 3rd in the Brownlow.
Cerra has past both of them this year.
Cerra has better foot and hand skills than both Cripps and Walsh.

I thought I was watching Rozee in the first qtr and posted that in game thread.
Moved really well, and to see Cerra getting the ball at the front of the pack, like he did early last year made him look exceptionally fast, just as Rozee does when he gets the ball at pace and leaves everyone behind him flat footed.

Maybe that is Dows best option at the moment - as a burst player, so give him 30-40 minutes to simply get ball.

I know this is like shooting Bambi around here - but Walsh should have handed off a couple of those Hail Mary shots - other than that his game was a vast improvement on what he’s shown over the past 6 weeks.

Yep either hand them off or develop a left foot.

Jack needs to learn to kick first.

The balance and use of our mids was best all year

Kennedy & Cripps were the bulls and rotated through their and forward. They are both good marking options up forward. Allows them to be more effective
Walsh thrived on this and Cerra is a Star
Docherty played very well as the extra mid. Fogarty did his bit and did a lot of the underrated things

I hope Dow gets a full game against Hawks. His form and performance all year deserves it

Best balanced side all year. More mobile in defence (I thought Weitering was excellent) and I liked the options up forward

Might be better running straight from defence?

Can only hope. Lets see how he goes in VFL first. Can't hurt.

That's a beauty. I dont blame you.

Pitto was minus 13 or 17m for his 4-5 kicks. He was the only one obviously going backwards on the day.

What seemed to click in the 2nd was playing on quickly. When we didn't we stifled our quick forward entry.

Docherty played predominantly wing.
I keep hearing in the media how Walsh etc haven't been getting their possessions in the front half and how they're not hurting teams.
It's hard to get your possessions forward of centre when you're getting flogged out of the middle. That was the difference yesterday. The location of possessions is an outcome of centre square dominance. Not choice by Sam Walsh etc.
They're not required to push back and win their ball in the back half.
