For what it's worth:
Cerra, poor bloke, once again worked his ass off in the midfield with very little help. Boyd, needs to stay in, you can see he has a great kick on him. Kemp, keep playing him. Young, never a fan, surprised me last year but true colors are now showing, deer in headlight stuff, that dropping the ball piece of play was embarrassing. Acres, as I have stated several times, still not convinced. At the time I wanted Hunter instead of Acres. Walsh, is it the lack of a preseason, an accumulator that has such poor execution Cripps, he's busted up, everyone in the footy world knows how to play him. Unlike the other captain who struggled early you can't move him forward as his kicking is deflating on the team, you just can't hide him any where on a footy field. What's next? McKay is not the smartest football player going around. lucky for him he's tall and can take a good mark. Charlie wants to play on all the time regardless if he's on the wing and there are no team mates forward of the ball, do they show him the replays during the week???? Dow, will probably be the scapegoat and get dropped
I'm glad Voss is trying something, the quick movement, change of angles etc but we are at round 13 into his 2nd year. Scott is round 13 into year 1 and they have a system they can build on as we are still searching for some resemblance of a system.
Many are saying if we kicked straight early we would have probably won the game, many of our scoring shots in the second did not come from a good footy system, it was hazardous at best. In the last we did the same, controlled the footy in our 50 but with no system or composure it was more of hope and luck that would have made us score not a system.
I said before the season started, in order to improve from last year, McKay would have to improve his goal kicking (don't underestimate how deflating it can be on a fragile team when we miss easy goals) We needed to find another forward (besides Charlie) to kick at least 35+ goals and Durdin or another tall back to put pressure on the flaky Lewis Young. Unfortunately we have failed on all fronts. At the same time I didn't expect our inside mids, Kennedy, Cripps and Hewitt to drop off so much.
Over all we are a dumb football club playing dumb football.
