He could come in and just blow it and be worth even less.
At lest at the moment he is racking up disposals in the 2s and adding perceived value based on that.
A club might see him as a good project that needs a sea change.

What do you think he's worth right now to anyone?
When the season ends, and he's out of contract, what do you think we will get for him?
We encouraged Setters to go for a 3rd rounder.
We delisted Stocker for nothing.
Both our choices.
What choices will we get for Dow? DFA or 4th rounder me thinks.

Bartel warns Dow not to listen to the sales pitch he will receive from Carlton at the end of the season.

I still believe Dow will be given a chance to show his value, and possibly improve his value and desire to stay with Carlton if offered a spot.
I can see Dow avoiding injury, to give himself a clean slate with a new club in 2024.
That's the Catch 22 I see by not playing him till late in the season when our season is over.

We traded Setterfield and our 4th rounder for a future 4th.
So we literally gave him away.
We also played Setters for 13 games which only really gave other clubs interest, yet added no real value.
So if we got a 3rd or even 4th for Paddy outright then we would be doing well, but I doubt this would happen.
If he comes in and absolutely stinks it up, then you can pretty much kiss not only any value away but interest also.
It's in his best interest to play as hard as he can otherwise he will either be lost or playing VFL only next year.
He has more to lose than we do ATM and the only thing he can bank on is high disposals in the VFL and he was #3 pick in the draft.....perceived value.
Weather he stays with us or moves on.

According to Jon Ralph, Dow won't be offered a new contract and will be a delisted free agent.
We'll get nothing for him

If true from ralph malph. Youd think we would have learnt telegraphing a delisting rather than trading. Refer to mitch skeletor Robinson. Even a junk 4th rounder could prove valuable in the wash up.

Yeah papers stamped but in an elite system I just don't buy he is cut regardless. Seems more like click bait.

Dow will be delisted, unless one or two of our mids get run over by a turtle or something.

Saints may go for him. The recruitment guy there knows that Dow is a bloody great footballer. He knows this because he recruited him in the first place, so he must be good.

Carlton could become SOS's new recruitment hunting ground - like GWS was for us. This could a chance to off load our dodgy SOS picks for reasonable returns.

Dow's profile and status has changed since this game.
Note, Dow didn't play in this game.
Read the posts above.
A lot changes in half a season.
There's a lesson in that.

Same could be said about Harry.
After this game, a few posters sided with click bait king Craig Hutchinson.
Harry currently has a few detractors on TC.
I bet the tables will turn during this Finals series.
CHF's don't grow on trees.

No one is siding with anyone. You have your opinion, other people have theirs.
No one will be happier than Carlton supporters if Harry hits form. Until then, he's subject to selection debate like every other player.

That's your opinion  Had to throw that in, with respect.

I think he's copping a bit more than he deserves.
Some posters choose to want to remember some metrics but not other metrics to suit their argument.
Some choose to look purely at metrics but not other virtues readily available stats don't account for.
I notice when I was off site the debate has become nastier by the day to prove a point between posters, and Harry's form gets worse by the post.
Its called hysteria.

I think Vossy picks him every day of the week because he's our best CHF, and he plays a role.
Since Round 11(IIRC) I don't think we have lost games because of Harry. Before that, its mainly Harry, but also Charlie and SOS whose kicking cost us games.
I'm glad the team knew that and alluded to the bad kicking knowing they weren't that far off.

Hi there guys,
Basically I’m confident on winning this game but after that it’s a struggle

We rely too much on stoppage and clearances
Scores from turnover is very ordinary some that can’t be fixed overnight but our position is better than last year
If Sydney break even in the stoppage congestion and clearances we are in trouble
Mills is a very good player
I’m interested what role he will play
I would tag Gulden with Cottrell
He is the only player who has the tank to go with him.
Their small forwards are a concern
Heeney due for a biggie. He rotated through the middle last time partially keeping Cripps quiet
With Mills back it means Heeney can play more up forward

Also I believe Voss needs to tag Blakey who
Is IMO The Swans most important player
As usual most of these posts on this topic are about just us
Whether McKay should play
Whether Pittonet should play
There are two team playing Friday night

Windy conditions now forecast - I wonder which side this will benefit?

Our game plan has stood up over the last 2 months.
Teams with a superior Turnover game against us have failed.
Its not going to be easy for any team in the 8. In fact every team will struggle to beat us and vice versa
Sure some teams have the double chance and home final advantage over us but we have just as much chance to win as the opposition; that's Finals.

What you find hard to point out is the Swans have to keep their eyes on us more than the other way around.

And

This is not the Finals thread. This is the round 11 thread. Make you point in the other thread, just copy and paste.

Go Blues
