I resemble that remark !

Predicting Papley 4 chest fist pumps.
1 for each crumbing goal.
The Lizard to do a Moore and have 29 intercept possessions.
Gulden or Warner to get another 3 votes
Buddy to snag 3 goals 5 behinds.
All from frees v Young or Watering.
Parker to sit Cripps on his arse.

Lose this one (which we almost certainly will) and the ducks may start to align for big changes.
Effectively making them dead ducks walking......

I don't think it matters anymore, doesn't seem to be anyone performing at any level.

Whoever the three also-rans come in their place is probably irrelevant TBH.

Nice thinking with Cripps, but where do we hide him when Pitt is rucking?

usual role just with more time forward.

yep pretty much. need to find a fine balance between stretching their defence and not playing three talls on the SCG either.

I know they have their limitations but Fantasy points are at least an attempt at objectively measuring performance. Looking at Blues reserves fantasy points:

Player Season average Last game
Brodie Kemp 109.8 92

Jaxon Binns 107.8 108

Paddy Dow 107.5 122

Tom De Koning 92.5 135

Lachie Fogarty 89.9 107

All suggest to me a level of performance justifying a shot in the firsts if and when incumbents are underperforming.

Short turn around.
Travel.

The universe is conspiring to screw us.

Sydney are begging to get beat but we will blow it.

Players look cooked mentally.
And short turn around and travel.

I would drop McGovern and bring in Marchbank. Risky I know but he showed last year he can play off limited run in games.

I would play Dow. His burst at stoppages could be handy on that ground and Voss simply has to make some changes. Hollands is due a rest so Dow takes his spot.

I would drop Jack and play TDK. The one ruck thing isn't working. Jack tries but he isn't a ruckman.

See if we can stretch Syd in the air, they are down in tall defenders.

Marchbank is a long way from being ready, needs a few more weeks, better to go with Kemp who’s in form.

I’d bring in Kemp, TDK, Dow and Binns for JSOS, McGovern, Hewett and Hollands.

Make Binns the sub. Play Kennedy off HFF and rotate to midfield. Rotate Walsh in a wing with Acres and Cottrell. Play Dow on the ball.

I’d like to drop Cripps too but it won’t happen, ideally we’d play him as second ruck, keep Hewett and leave TDK in the VFL. But that’s not ideal either.

Time for Voss to finally make multiple changes.

Agree. Swing that axe.

Not as a knee jerk, but for weeks of sustained shitness.

He's been ultra conservative on that front all year, but we're about to play a side that should have lost to North. Make some changes, take some risks, freshen the side up a bit. We should be able to make 4 changes & still be confident we can win this game of footy.

Can't see any changes happening this week other than forced by injuries.

Clock is ticking for Vossy I'm afraid - we have won 8 games, 1 draw from Round 11 2022 to Round 10, 2023. Diabolically bad. Another year wasted.

If Sydney are badly out of form, then I have no doubt we’ll change that this Friday Night.

You're probably right about Marchbank.

Franklin might retire after this week's game, go out on a high after kicking a bag.

Purely as a guide, Gold Coast finished 12th last year with 10 wins. Hawthorn finished 13th with 8. Based on that, 8 and a draw has us about the 13th best (or 6th worst) side in the comp.

The “thirteen, thirteen!!!!” - could be in imminent danger I would suggest.

Changes need to be made.

I dont think Cincotta desreved to be dropped last week for Boyd.
Boyd looked like a player out of form. Yeah did do some good things in the 3rd qtr, maybe the game played him into some form....Better have.
I'm a fan of Marchbanks, but his form is no where near good enough to even be considered.
Dow has his limitations, but I wouldnt care if he is selected to play against Swans. Not sure who I would drop.

Agree about Jack. Heart n Soul, but a liability in the ruck, and isn't marking in the forwardline, nor kicking goals. TDK was better in the ruck vs Williamstown against big Tom Downie.
TDK will strtech them in the backline. The Swans will put a lot of focus on Harry n Charlie knowing they can kick a lot of goals if not double teamed....that should give TDK some room to do a bit of forward manage. So short are the Swans defenders, probably SOS will stretch them too, but Ive seen enough of SOS.
