Gov's had 2 poor games in a row but he was our only decent defender against Brisbane. Young had a shocker last week, don't mind him going out.

Struggle with it as well although Young has been poor last week or so. Pity S.Durdin is injured
We have defintely gone for more mobility
Surely Fogarty has to be sub. Can't be Ed or a tall

Binns Dow not even an emergency. So much for form

Only thing I can think is that Gov can be a good penetrating kick which on the small SCG is a plus.

He’s been terrible - only issue is we are so thin for Key Position Depth that we’ve been forced to keep him in.

That and despite being an inconsistent kick, Kemp always looks to move the ball on quickly.
Young hangs onto it for 45 flowering minutes with NFI what to do with it.

There really isn’t much depth to our list

Midfield barely changes and we keep losing games

Dow has every right to be peeved.

I'm happy with the changes.
No excuses for our boys against an undermanned Swans outfit.

Ive been watching different games to the MC.
I thought Young has been better than Gov and Weitering in the last few losses.

Only reason Young can be dropped is because the Swans talls are Franklin and big Hayden McLean.

Weiters on Franklin
Gov on McLean  wrong weight division
Maybe that's why Kemp was selected, and even he's too small for McLean.

Somehow I feel Vossy isn't paying McLean enough respect.

Good point about Young

SCG isn't as small as is suggested year in year out. It was increased in size 2 decades ago. 10m short of MCG IIRC and just as wide.

I hope Kemp or Gov can take those high contested marks on the last line like Young does.

All of the OUTS are emergencies.. Plus Fogarty...
I'd go with Fog as Sub.

Any chance we can ask TDK torun as a link up player when his opponent is either a telephone booth or has already run back to clog up defence? Just wandering....

Young is losing nearly 30% of his defensive 1 on 1's this year. Gov and Weiters are significantly better. Add that to him putting the anchor out every time he gets the ball, it's a worthwhile decision IMO.

Last year and early this year he had form. So much so he surprised everyone after Jones left and Oscar went down.

He looked like a deer in headlights last week.

I'm guessing we cant carry 3 out of form KPD's, so we rely on Weiters and Gov.

I'm not so concerned this week against a depleted Swans outfit, but next week against the Dees.......

30% FMD. I didn't know that. That's terrible. I find that hard to believe from the eye test. Stats are stats. Decision makes sense.

Gov better than that? Probably because he hasn't put himself in any one on one's. Who will take the intercept marks?

I'm not upset. Young or Durdin will be recalled for their height soon enough. Gov as a KPD makes me shiver.

Plus on such a small ground it's harder to shirk contact.

Young is one of last Shirkers in the team.
LOB Fisher now Young all avoided body contact.
Kemp at least doesn't do that.
Time for TDK to stand up

That's a good point about shirking. Everyone has to be able to put their body in.

But marking and golden fists against 200cm forwards is what I associate Young with, and not many realise he's in the top 10 players at Carlton for highest speed.

Maybe he belongs elsewhere. Pity Durdin isn't fit and in form to try him.

Good changes

Young has been awful of late. Panics with ball in hand.
Jack isn't a ruck and not a big enough threat as a 3rd forward.

Dow obviously won't be a Blue in 2024

...and time for TDK to stand up as you say.

I wouldnt be surprised if TDK swings from Fwd-Ruck to CHB on Swans novice McLean.

Leave the 3rd marking target in the forwardline to the like of Kennedy and Cottrell.

Good way to look at it.

Its time for change, and MC needs to show there are non negotiables.
