Worst captain we have ever had

Offer him up for a trade and see if we can snare the #1 pick.

PS. Make no apologies for shooting Bambi

man, you have balls of steel saying that

i have thought this, but i thought i was just being overly negative. he just tries to do far too much, and doesnt really lead from the front

but to say he os the worst captain we have ever had takes away from marc murphy

My 2nd post of Season 2023: Just goes to show how much i have lost interest in this Team and in the Sport in General.

I am surprised to see some of the old battlers, still going and still dreaming, only to realize we have a delusional Club and have been for 20 Years!

The Fact that we have gone backwards compared to last year, proves that the players have lost the Coach. They are confused and can not understand what the Game plan is. The Game plan is that there is no Game plan. Its Chaos football. Get it and kick it in hope....

Its harsh to put all the blame on the Coach alone, but we must also acknowledge that Carlton runs a fantastic Academy for attracting and recruiting players that can not kick and are turn-over Kings!

We all got excited when we got Acres to the club....Someone forgot to tell us he was a turn-over expert. Tonight, his disposal efficiency was below 40%. That is Criminal in any AFL Footballer! And he is not alone! half the team can't spot a Target!

Something has to Give... The better we get rid of Voss, the better it is for the Club!

I had to put up with our efforts while having my left ear blasted by Krazy Kathy's Karoake down at the local tavern.

An amazing experience.

Hey D27, good post.

Acres started the game where he left of last week, he handed the Dogs their first goal tonight. Under no pressure running out of defence and he kicks to Johannisen who goals, he started the rot.

You know that old Franco Cozzo ad that started ...... grand sale, grand sale ?
Hold that thought.

I'm 66, been lucky enough to see 8 flags, 7 of em in the flesh.
But they've just about broken me.
Near 20 years of kicks in the groinal and gonads area, taking its toll.

My question is, how brave are you Carlton?
Are you brave enough to change and not buy another ticket on the just change the coach merry-go-round?

Clearly there's lots of probs at cfc, but the players are ground zero.
Do you envisage Cripps running down the race to mcg turf on gf day ?
Do you see Mckay kicking a clutch match winner in a prelim ?
Do you see TDK torching big ruckman and gorilla defenders ?
Do you see Fisher blitzing Petracca or De Goey ?
Do you see Mclovin or Martin playing 20 games per year, at their age ?

Nope, me neither.
So....
Are ya brave enough to say, nope it hasn't worked (again) ?
How many top shelf draft picks would you get by having a grand sale of most of the above ?
Contracts schmontracts.

Since 1967, don't think I've seen a more mentally fragile player ever as bad as Mckay. Is anyone working with him.
Hes almost a liability at times.
If not, we'll hey Michael, it's your career he's helping to abbreviatie !

Yeah its 2 in the morning, I'm depressed. Watching the press conference, I thought it was Teague wearing a Voss face mask.

But it's OK....cfc will work on their deficiencies this week and come out and smoke dem Hot Pies !

Grande sale, comprade de Franco....

One thing I can say, and with respect, I'm not a KK type.

The thing I don't get about McKay is he's actually a good drop punt kick. The one from 30m or whatever it was was soooo easy. Why on earth wouldn't you just line up straight

Can anyone tell me what we/they changed after we hit the front for the second time?
Something significant must have changed structurally because they were struggling to score for the last quarter and a half and then suddenly, it completely opened up for them?

Nothing structurally changed.

Simply comes down to mental fragility. Club has forgotten how to win.

Games on the line, we generally wilt.

From boardroom to the playing field, there is a stench to this club.

Looks like another wasted year.

Yeah, I’m close to breaking point. At this stage don’t even feel like I want to watch next week.
I’m usually super optimistic. That 1st half in particular was so hard to watch.
The standard knock on Voss was that he lacked strategic and tactical nous. But his hardened men would follow him into any war.
As it is turning out, I think he has won a few tactical battles this season (kept Bont relatively quiet, made it v hard for Bulldogs to score, last week kept Neale under control etc…) but not able to get the players up. If anything, they look confused, uncertain, nervous and certainly appear to lack footy IQ.

The only big scheme positive is the stark difference between our hesitant, backward looking attempts to ‘control’ the game Vs our faster, bolder, forward handball & kick to a lead game plan (as if this wasn’t already obvious over the first 8 games). Maybe, this time it will sink in. (Repeatedly steps on rake…)

Losing tonight didn't hurt... not sure if that's good or bad

tonight hurt too much for me. i am now where you are hornie, this club has broken too many supporters

i cant deal with this club any more

Me too. I just cant deal with it. Was watching the game with my partner and her mother. The mother goes i cant watch this anymore and went to bed. I stupidly stayed and watched. I was so angry and upset put myself to bed too.

This team has broken me after 45 years.

Tried hard
Smashed them in contested possession so we had a crack but beaten at stoppage
This despite Pittonet getting more tapouts
Game over
When you work your backside off to get back into the game the opposition normally come back
20 points is an accurate assessment of the margin between the two teams

We simply haven’t the cattle
We need to reset for the long term
Don’t think that will happen given the clubs culture

Was having mates text me at 3qtr time saying we'll win from here. Run over the top of them. These are non Carlton fans. I replied with I've read the book multiple times. I've seen the movie multiple times. I know exactly how this is going to end.

If you want to get an idea of how deep the problems run, go and watch the positive press conference from Voss.
More good moments that bad.

Must have been watching a different game.

It is so easy to see that teams give us contested possession, sit back and wait for us to do turn it over. We are actually playing exactly the way teams want us too, and that’s somehow taken as a positive.

I’ve been a Voss supporter but this man looks devoid of ideas and confidence and it’s rubbing off on the players (or vice Versa)
