I don't trust Martin until he's played a block of VFL games.

I'd much rather an impact player that can add some run late. Why I didn't undertsand Ed being Sub last week

I'd say make Motlop/Durdin sub this week. They're impact players.

Can't keep carrying both on the field at once.

 - Mick, I don’t know how you can possible think like that right now, but BRAVO.

You know the old saying Suzz , if you are not happy , pretend you are happy . Mate , it works . Besides , last year we beat them with half a side bar the last kick of the match . I really believe we are right in this match up to our eyeballs . OK , we lost yesterday but we gave ourselves a heap of looks but just didn't finish properly . Its gonna click . I firmly believe we are building . Voss is slowly but surely weeding out the softies . Reckon he will get the last laugh . He who laughs last laughs loudest .

Reckon we are a chance if the boys show the same level of dedication, consistency and attention to detail as Mick does to get a space before all his his punctuation.

Do we put a hard tag on Nick Daicos? If so you'd think Ed Curnow would be the ideal match up.
If Harry, Cripps and Weiters can get off to a good start and build their confidence then things can turn around quickly for us.

I think Cottrell is, physically at least, a pretty good match up for Daicos.

I don’t know whether to drop Silvagni or not. Trying real hard & caring about the performance is his stock & trade, but we need goals.

I like the idea of Martin getting out the back, especially with the defensive run support of Acres, Hollands, Walsh & Cottrell… but it’s just an idea. In practice, the rebound goes straight up the guts.

Doesn’t change the fact that we need goals.

Pittonet/Young/Harry has to be the ruck combination. If there’s a job for Silvagni after that, then I’m here for it.

I'd like to see is move McGovern forward and McKay spend some minutes in the ruck like Daniher does.

JSOS should not be sub ffs. He was the only one performing in the first quarter.

Play him as a tagger. Go to De Goey or Daicos. He's had success in this in the past.

Going by his past records you are only going to get blocks of 4-6 games out of Martin before he is sidelined again
Makes no sense playing a bank of games at VFL
If he is fit he is easily in our best 22 - get him in there before he breaks down again

As I have said many times before. Carlton is the new Fitzroy. Every team believes they have a chance against us and worse ... Carlton believes every team can beat them.
It will take a miracle for Carlton to beat Collingwood ... but we live in hope!

Fair point. It's a sad state of affairs when it comes down to logic like that though

They did give him a decent break and a long block of training before bringing him back to give him the best chance. Fingers crossed

At his best he is a very good player and offers something we don't have

Ditto.

Someone to give us an advantage: Mid bull, KPF, Ruck or speed king.

I'd go for a speed king to break lines and too fresh and fast to be caught: with zip.

They can link and carry...did I mention kick a goal. Could be an enthusiastic kid.

We are desperate for a Martin type HF. He's a good mark, and he's a strong tackler.

You're usually spot on BBW, but this week I really hope we can turn it around against the odds.
Back to your point, I am expecting a loss.

I'm trying to find belief, and I will stay tuned here.

no to martin at least 2 weeks in ressies. What i would like to see is our Forwards DEFEND more ,pressure more on collingwood backs because once again like previous years collwood attack starts from there defence WE NEED TO STOP THIS. Win this game and then we will lose to swans (HOPENOT)

I too wouldn't bring Martin in, but MC love him and tend to bring him at pretty much every opportunity. So, I expect him to be named.

If they're looking for motivation, I would lock the players down in a room for a few hours before the game and play the cringeworthy, shrieking audio of the Pies players' mums revving up the players yesterday before the game, on a continuous loop.

I just heard it on SEN and was so bad it made me want to run through a brick wall and take these phonies down.
