A very enjoyable Sat night at the footy :smoking:

Have sat through some shockers over the years so rapted to be the ones dishing it out.

I’m nervous before every game but especially against this mob at home. It’s a WA thing. Realistically thought we’d win by 5 or 6 goals so I’m very happy to have blown them out. Especially on the road.

We weren’t perfect but I loved our intent to use the corridor more, take the dangerous kick and put speed on the game.

Hopefully this is the confidence booster and kickstarter the club needed, players and coaches. A reminder of what we are capable of. With a tough stretch ahead of us.

Well , i was wondering about the game and what to make of it all . And then i read your post MP . And i reckon you have it all covered . Sums up everything really . You have to start somewhere and i reckon that is a good start to come out of a slump .

In the North game we got beaten in clearances
Contested possessions were almost even
North had McKay and Logue out
McKay and Curnow had it easy
That came doesn’t count
North and WC are pure shit this season
The opposition was the worst it could be

Every time we have had a win like last night this site is predominantly lead into a false sense of security
Brisbane are a better team this year
Dunkley has toughened them up on the inside
Charlie will have to play very well to beat Harris Andrews or Payne who is a decent defender
Their midfield is deep and tough
And Mc Inerney is a very good ruckman
Their forward line is packed full of talent and versatility
Win this one means infinite more value than last night’s witches hats session

You're so bloody predictable Keogh.
Only missed by 123 points.

Commitment to the bit... it's admirable in a way.
Watching from OS....
9:32 (i think?) the scores were one point different... Whole table cheering for Melbourne to get a point, same score, same minutes and seconds....
They got a goal.... Damn!
Almost a NUMEROLOGY moment

Go Blues

Last night was against a poor opposition but it's been a long while since we have gone with it and won by a lot
Hard to judge but I saw a lot of positives. Hewett back to form, big score, Kemp & Cincotta, a fit Docherty & Saad. Pittonet showing his worth etc
Lions midfield is tough but so is ours.
Thier forward line is talented but flaky and our defence is as good as any.
Difference for me is our forward line. If we can get it in quickly we can win

Brisbane are a good side and hard to beat especially in Brisbane but we have real quality coming back in and should be confident

The game is at Marvel, not Brisbane.

So were you just taking the piss when you tipped them by 15 points? Or do you actually think we're beyond shit

A 123pt swing against prediction is a rounding error CK

As I said before until we start beating teams when we lose or break even in clearances and contested possession we are an average team
We buried a team that was beyond shite last night something we haven’t done for a while
Other than that nothing was proved

I’m a realist not a pessimist
To be a top 4 team you need to be strong in all areas
We are a fair way off it
The 2 positives were Kemp and Cincotta
Kemp is so much better than Plowman
Cincotta looks good
Clean with his hands
Takes the game on
C u next week

Yes, you made that point, and I immediately provided an example of us winning comfortably despite losing clearances and CPs, and you decided that game didn't count. But hey, if first you don't succeed, keep repeating yourself until everyone gives up. Great discussion!

Yes, of course. Look man, I have no beef with you, and I appreciate your measured viewpoint on Vossy when others were losing their heads, but it's OK to laugh at yourself and say "yeah I got that one wrong" when you get tackled to the ground after trying a Dusty fend-off!

Yeah, like 79, 81 and 82 led us into a false sense of security, no idea why we bothered celebrating at the time.

If you met me in real life you would meet the easiest going guy who doesn’t take life too seriously
Seriously
Point is we are still a long way off it
Last night is a poor parameter to where we are at
By the way we smashed GWS in those stats
West Coast and North are simply horrible

You don’t think much of Plowman, fair enough, so why the plaudits for Kemp who played just ok against witches hats? What did he prove to you? I don’t think Kemp came in to replace Plowman. Young was selected as a fwd - ruck to make the Kemp selection palatable.

Gov is our intercept mark in the backline. What role does Kemp play that you like so much? Just curious.

He is a better kick
His judgement when the ball in the air is streets ahead of Plowman
He is more composed
It’s embarrassing how many games Plowman has played
Probably a nice bloke
But a very average footballer
