No doubt Carlton will struggle to move the ball against STK.

Jack Steele returns for STK.

I forgot the other STK who will return; he loves playing Carlton.

MEMBREY.

Boys were still in the sheds in that first qtr. Not sure why.
Plenty for Voss and Co to work on during the week.
Not many winners on the night. Newman. Perhaps Sammy in his first game back. Not much else.

This game is sold out.
They will likely run all over us.

Hopefully McGovern and Jack Martin are fit to play. As a minimum Plowman and Honey out of the side. I don't think we can play all 3 of Hewett, Kennedy and Ed Curnow.

Surely Dow gets a chance for one of these one paced midfielders. At least he had some burst from the stoppage

Dow has been given plenty of chances. 63 AFL games and averages 13.6 disposals, most of which are handballs to teamates under pressure. Furthermore he doesn't apply much defensive pressure.

How many of those games were when he was 18, 19 years old. Give him another chance. Can’t be worse than what a handful of players dished up tonight. If nothing else to make a statement

Fisher has played 100 of the most ordinary games you'd ever want to see
Dow played 1 game last year...yes, he was really given an opportunity

Going to need a big turnaround in form to even get close to beating St Kilda.

Like to see:

McGovern for Plowman
Carroll for Fisher
Cincotta for Cowan (needs a rest)
???? for SOS
Honey out

Fingers crossed for Saad. It's not unusual for him to finish games with tight hammies so hopefully it's just more of the same. Would be a major out.

It's a pity we didn't rest Hewett and play Kennedy in the middle at Adelaide Oval, since we got smashed anyway it would've been a chance to get him right. Easy to say with hindsight.

Blues by 10. We owe the cauliflower.

I don’t think we will win but we do play better at Marvel these days

The twin towers in dry conditions can be difficult to stop

Really need to take the game on

As a minimum remove Plowman and Ed. Huge liabilities.

Get Carroll and Dow into the mix. Nothing to lose.

Our stilted play will get us nowhere, so over to you Voss.

Out: Plowman, Honey, Saad and the other two injuries we undoubtedly picked up.
In: Carroll, Kemp, Cincotta, and we’ll wait and see who the above mentioned 2 will be.

Would be refreshing to see a reaction by the MC.
Hopefully some of the boys back it up in the VFL this weekend and get rewarded.

I'm no Dow fan and really never have been. I don't think bringing him will make a difference.
However, I agree with selection integrity. If he keeps dominating at VFL level and there are those doing little at AFL level, he needs to come in. Not only that, he needs to be given a string of games, not just one and straight back out.
Like I said, highly doubt it'll make a difference, but couldn't do much worse and it at least gives him the chance to prove a few wrong and maybe if he is told upfront he will get a string of games no matter how he games, it'll give him a bit of confidence.

Yikes

So home members can't get in without a reserved seat - is that correct?

Not sure about that. I know a general admission member who has tried to upgrade to a reserved seat with no luck.
Ring the club. There maybe some areas set aside for walk up members to scan their tickets.
The club recently advised to upgrade to a seat.

Thankyou Rhino
I could not agree with you more. Don't look at Dow from a revisionist perspective...FMD he only played 1 game last year and wasn't our worst. 95% of his games were under Teague and Bolton.
I don't care how crazy this sounds but if Dow had been given the same opportunities as Fisher, he would be best 25 easily. The "block of games" line is so salient. It makes the player feel a little more secure...how many consecutive sh1t games did SPS play? Fisher? LOB? Plowman?

Forget Dow for 1 moment...SELECTION INTEGRITY:
Some people are saying Martin should come straight in. Why? He did SFA prior. Let him come back via the seconds
I hear the "like for like" rubbish. Why did Voss bring in Durdin when Hewett went out?
Honey had a shocker last week. Why was he not dropped (he played worse than Dow did in that game against Coll last year) and we kept Carroll as the sub?
What was the f%^&(* point of making Carroll sub last week, give him another taste, then losing Doc (a defender and mid) and somehow not being able to still find a spot for Carroll
If people here tell me, "I've seen enough of Dow", I would argue I've seen 5 X enough of Plowman. Throw Cincotta in. He's a mature body. I'll back him in
