Our inside 50 strategy is putrid. Who is our forwards coach?
Even when we don’t rush we make poor decisions. Akers was a culprit on many occasions tonight.

We are also carrying too many fish is probably the least effective little man in the game.
Not overly quick, not strong, fumbles, makes basic errors and poor decisions…not sure what value he adds.

Pretenders until we prove otherwise. Not holding my breath that we will.

That was an epic fail on all accounts. Absolutely putrid.

This was coming

Our performances prior to tonight have been camoflagued by individual performances

In one game our percentage is now below 100. Need to win big when we have the chance. The draw want save us as there will be another this year…. So we will be competing with at least 3 teams for the 9th spot.

Our bottom 6 tonight are either not up to it are too young

Durdin, honey, fisher, plowman, Cowan

And young didn’t have great game

Our dour defensive style is static and does not stack up

Can't win them all but there should be no tapering or resting just yet. Just pantsed in that first quarter that blind freddy could see might happen

As always, read what BV had to say in the pre match thread

Quote:
I believe we are a genuine outsider. It's great that we're winning but we're not playing particularly good footy.
Last week we beat a very average side with better kicking at goal. North had more possessions, more inside 50's, more scoring shots, they flogged us at clearances and it's fair to say the umpires looked after us.
So we've beaten 9th, 13th, 15th and we drew with 12th. Our defence is holding well but we've kicked less "points for" than any other team in the 8. With the past 2 Coleman Medallists in our front half!
With our defence, we're relying on individual talent as much as system to hold us up. Number 1 in the AFL for defensive 1 on 1 wins. I believe it's the same with our attack. Individual talent over system.

Couple that with our scoring from clearances dropping off the cliff from last year and we're playing average footy at the moment. 16th in the AFL for clearances when you look at the talent we have in the middle? That's not our profile of strength.
It's great that we've found the ability to bank wins whilst playing average footy but the time has come to step its up. Especially with an almost full strength side this week.
We have a reasonably highly touted coaching staff. It's time to see if they can insert some flow into our ball movement. The Adelaide game will tell us a lot about where we actually are placed structurally, methodically and progressively. And how much we have missed Sam Walsh's linking ability.

Time to give Dow a go at least he has got some pace about him and cunners when fit
Fisher out soft as they come
Honey not up to AFL standards
Plowman just played he’s last game for Carlton I hope can’t believe they didn’t play Kemp
Pitto only just a plugger need to try somebody else there

Insipid performance

We have been jumping on the same spot for 8 years

This malarkey about a 66 game rebuild, premiership by 2027, yada yada yada

Can’t remember making any meaningful progress since Bolton became our coach

All this crap hype after beating the wooden spooners North Melbourne. How embarrassing.

Watch Voss try to spin some positives. Us Carlton supporters so desperate for a modicum of success will fall for it like a moth to a flame.

We have missed the boat.

Not surprised at all, some were giving high fives because we were 2nd on the ladder, anyone that knows a little about footy would know we have not been convincing at all this year. We are average at the moment:

Midfield to slow,
Teams know how to exploit Cripps,
Win the midfield battle and we have no plan B,
Forward line entry is abysmal,
Struggle to move the ball from defence to our forward line,
Opposition easily exit our forward line after a point,
Harry and Charlie just turn and kick to anything when they are 70m out,
Team selection does not reward players in the reserve,

The above is just not from tonight's game, it's been all year.

As another poster said:
I bet Plowman keeps playing - we are that desperate. We recruit Cincotta - Why? When we are not playing him. He or Kemp should be in the team rather than rubbish Plowman.

Smashed at the clearances (our one wood?)

We are too nice. You have to have mongrel to win on the road

Tackles brushed aside and too easily intimidated

Doc and McGovern huge outs.

AFL have too much control on the game… dissent rule is crap, can’t touch the head, can’t tackle hard. You’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t!

(Ross Lyon says hello)
