Jack Martin isn't even worthy of an emergency spot.

One of the worst signings in recent memory and that's saying a lot.

Team is all over the place though, Dow back pocket, Mirkov on a wing with Akuei centre and O’Keefe other wing.

Why do they bother.

Because…..he’s injured too often…that’s what you’re saying isn’t it?

Doesn’t make him a bad footballer.

I actually love how he goes about his game when playing.
He’s much more physical than most other players.
Goes in hard.
Goes in to hurt.

Wish he could stay on the park more

Yes, he's too injury prone and we need to just cut our losses.

Same with Marchbank et al. Nothing against them as blokes, but, this is a ruthless business.

Even when fit they're frequently out of form... the reason people consider them best 22 just illustrates how weak our list is.

Maybe we're trying to justify their price tag...

No

Just judging each player for their footy skills and the way they play.

Price tag was what they were worth when contracted.

I’m not sure why people write off good footballers because they’re injured in the toughest game on earth….maybe it’s because it’s about their price tag?

Different argument

Beat a misfiring Freo by 1 with the benefit of umpires
Lost to the worst inexperienced list by 19 last week.

We should Beat them easily if we are going to be a finals team

The point is to look at our injury list and we are not picking our best team. For that reason this game is one we should not take for granted. It’s going to be tough for reasons BV gives.

Our bottom 6 are not great. A few of them most pundits agreed as the obvious ones to drop due to form they have shown…well, they are playing.

Just get the 4 points and get Walsh Kennedy and Acres back next week

Sure but that’s next year.

Some of these players you and others are writing off after 3 rounds may just well be our saviours at the pointy end of the season. Some may not.

Next year is next year.

I can’t believe anyone would write off injury prone players, and Gov is one of those too, when there’s 20 games to play in H & A plus finals. It’s a marathon, not a sprint and we need a group of 30 bonafide AFL players to get through a year of footy. That’s nothing new.

Do you really think our list is so weak?
I think we possibly have a weak bottom 4 or 5, which makes us a bit vulnerable when our depth is tested with injuries. But that is a far cry from having a weak list.
I think many pundits think we have a top tier or at least 2nd tier list. If they mark us down it is more about other things.
In this day and age, with 18 teams, every team has soft parts of their list. The key is to find the right roles for these players to support the strengths. And we have a lot of strengths, and for the most part right where we want them to be (spine, contest).
If you genuinely think our list is weak, I suspect you will never be happy.

Add the 9 injured players to the AFL and VF teams.
I think you'll find that we have a GREAT Best 23 and a lot of quality depth and therefore a great list.

Farmer Blue and others have highlighted their targets for Trade or Draft end of season.
We all agree that some of the injury prone players who are out of contract will not be carried into 2023.
But that's next year.

The best way to look at this TODAY is define one's view on Gov's position amongst the Best 23.
Is he Best 23 because he's playing TODAY, and what if he gets injured or gets through the season, what's the opinion on him on the list; he's out of contract?

I think we wait till the end of the year and see what happens in the next 24 weeks. Plenty can happen and plenty will change just as it has since before xmas and again just before round 1.

Running BP. Elite kick and tough. If fit he would be there and allow Doc wing/mid

Late change for Hewitt I’m tipping.

We always have two left over in case of late injury. Carroll sub, Cincotta misses out

You would think Cincotta makes sense to replace Doc down back to play him in the midfield. Why bother getting a 26 years supplementary player if we are not using him. May as well got another development player if that is what we are doing.

Just win today with some improvement in attack and no injuries. That's all I want

My sentiments too Drewgirl.

Cincotta hardened body vs a Clarkson coached team.
Carroll is an outside receiver in the reserves, and we do need that.
Its the sub spot so they may only get a quarter
