Agree. He looks like a player just on the cusp of playing some really great football.

I share the overall positive sentiment, but I saw a couple of halfhearted chases again last night. I’m not sure if it’s concentration or fitness but that’s an area of his game that stands out as requiring improvement. At one point last night he just watched his opponent run off and then gave a soft chase when his opponent got into space and was used in the next play. Mindful that he’s only a second year player and there’s plenty of good things he’s doing.

its only two weeks into the season, but i feel this is a really important step the team has taken ...

last week in the 3rd when richmond got a run on, we where able to slow it down, take the heat out of the contest, score 2 goals ... years gone by that results in us conceeding a run of 5+ goals etc..

this week, again the cats, we had moments when we ran them off their feet, slowed it down when they got a run on.

i think defensively, i feel like we are structured really well .. again, in years gone by we would rely on a massive midfield dominance ... and that just doesnt seem like our greatest asset anymore. they where good, and probably won the contest last night, but i feel like it is 30+ from everyone (Cripps, Cerra, Hewitt & Walsh) for us to win games in the past, not anymore.

for mine, its real tangible improvement on last season ... not sure we beat two many top 4/8 sides last year, well we have now. Thats 2 who i think will be top 8 at the very least, and we are unbeaten.

we still have alot of work to do on our defensive efforts when they game is there to be won .. feel like we try to defend a lead way to early, but its a work in progress.

WOW.......great win!......heart in mouth right to the last 5sec win but great nonetheless.

It was great to see that surge, free flowing football again for the first 3/4s.
Lots and lots of nice tap work to players and the blocking for players was a lot better this week, still need more of it though, especially after close in handball gives.
Not sure whether it was the teams objective to come out defensively in the 4th from the start or it was the sub out of a tall that nearly undone all the good work.
Either way, luck was on our side and I think we were lucky we played them round 2 and not later in the year, they are clearly underdone as a team.

I'm glad they put Pitto in the team as he did some good work.
Even without a few key players they are still really tall around the ground.
How good was it to see Ed play at that level again, huge.
Perfect replacement for Hewett, maybe Crippa can go forward/back a bit more this year with Ed in the middle.
I think I've seen enough of Fisher now, he get's in the right spot but he just can't make an impact.
I'm convinced Hollands will be like Kade now, courage, commitment, running power, but his disposals are just........
And Adam Saad, I think he should celebrate Ramadan all year, every year he goes off during Ramadan, love it.
Acres much better game this week, his disposals are questionable too, but to be fair the wings were not on their own.
McGlovin is just frustrating, the dropped marks got me, especially because you know what he can do.
TDK, killed it in the ruck. If he keeps this up, give him what he wants.
The defenders were solid again, they're becoming very reliable.
Charlie.......well what else can you say.......Harry did some great work too.
The smalls, I don't care what people think, all 3 need to play each week.

But the best part of our game this week was how much body work we did on them, they will be feeling it today.
No more bruise free footy, love it.
Now it's time to dial the skills in and we are on our way.
Time to start putting some teams away.

Happy I was wrong about this game. They changed their approach which was so refreshing.

I know this is a crazy comparison but Hollands somehow reminds me of Craig Bradley. Just the way he moves. Does anyone else see that or am I just dreaming?

I did post Around draft time that Holland is good enough to believe he might have a Camporeale first year in 1995, and that gives me reason to suspect a flag this year. Lid is on.

You're just dreaming...when Ollie runs around the boundary at absolute top speed, bouncing the ball about half a dozen times, burns off Peter Matera and then dobs a goal from about 80 metres, get back to me. He reminds me of Scotland (the go-to man when making comparison).
