Our last five games were against Geelong, Richmond, Collingwood, Melbourne and Brisbane...

We have now won 2 of our last 8 games.

Great to get a win, albeit we did look like a mess for much of the last quarter before finally steadying late, and I am not sure why we keep protecting leads instead of putting games away.

Hopefully now with a stretch of 'easier' games coming up we can start stringing some wins together.

As mentioned in another thread, next week is a trap game.
If we are as genuinely good side we win next with with a decent lead at the end of the game.

Who you supporting next week?

Exactly sinners, we haven't lost an AFL game since August. With March now in the bag, that's 7 entire calendar months without a loss. That's premiership form!

Why can't we not be sober?
Just want to start this over
And why can't we drink forever?
I just want to start this over

We will find the centre in (navy) blue
We will chew it up and leave

Its a new season LOL

4 of the last 5 games are losses

1 goal in a half of football when we have our backs against the wall

But given the chances we had how many goals "SHOULD" we have kicked by half time. By my reckoning at least 6.

We have won 6 of our last 19 games

Based off 2022 that would have us ranked around the 4th or 5th worst team in the competition

Last 12 games 2022...
AVG Points For 77.1
AVG Points Against 75.1

First 11 games 2023...
AVG Points For 76.7
AVG Points Against 79.4

Numbers are similar but getting worse.
Last 12 games 2022 at least we scored more than we gave up.
But this year we are giving up more than we score.

Here’s some more sobering statistics about our club and it’s recent history:
- In Fitzroy’s final 20 seasons before their demise in 1996, they played finals more times than Carlton in the past 20 years.
- In South Melbourne’s last 10 seasons before their demise in 1981, they played finals more times than Carlton in the last 10 years.
- Our streak of 24 consecutive years without a grand final puts us about 10th on the all time list for longest such streak (equal with North who we played in 1999).
- Our streak of 10 consecutive years without finals is approaching the top 10 for longest such streak. Apart from GC, all the top streaks predate the equalisation era which makes it even worse.
