There's only 2 practise games against opposition teams, so I expect it to be highly contested and more physical than during the NAB Cup.

But there's competition for spots and we would like to see a few peripheral players given a go for a half against Pies. I'm expecting changes to personnel at half time like recent years.

I'm assuming Gov, Martin, C. Durdin are fit and will be given some game time to see where they are at.

I'd like to see Dow, Cincotta, Cuningham, Marchbank, Carroll and Ed.

I can wait for Hollands and Cowan, and S.Durdin if the above are ahead of them.

Walsh Williams Boyd Cottrell Philp not considered.

I don't think our boys will be dancing with their sisters. Rubbing hands.

What about best 23 players like Boyd, C.Durdin, Owies? They are notable on just about every mock best 23. Moreso than Dow.

What's happened to Kemp? I guess Kemp will play next week.

Fogarty, Carroll not notable? I thought Carroll was looking the goods this preseason.

Looks like in the Geelong v Hawthorn game it was four periods with the seniors immediately followed by four periods with the reserves. Gold Coast v Essendon* looked like they played 5 periods and then Gold Coast went intra club

Random halftime observations-

We still look vulnerable when teams launch counter attacks from their HB line.

We look a million bucks when we win the clearance and our tall forwards are one-out. The rest of the time….meh.

Great start by TDK. Cowan looks promising. Cincotta has handled himself well. Acres is a lock for one wing, I’d have LOB on the other for round 1. Motlop looks stronger and fitter. Great to see Hewitt back.

Is Honey underdone? Needs a good second half otherwise he’s missed a big opportunity with Martin, Owies & C.Durdin out.

Young hasn’t sown up his position yet. Kemp or S.Durdin could still be a chance if they play well in the reserves.
