I have penciled in this one to see :). Thankfully my wife's family live in Blacktown, so it's more than a good excuse to combine a trip to see them (we live in Canberra) as well as see this game :)

B: Newman Weitering Saad
HB: Docherty Young McGovern
C: Carroll Hewett Acres
R: Pittonet Cripps Cerra
HF: Silvagni C.Curnow Fisher
F: Motlop McKay Durdin
I: Kennedy E.Curnow Cowan Martin

If he’s good to go, and there’s no reason (yet) to think he isn’t, Ed’s class will bring a lot to the mid-fwd pressure. If he’s behind Owies in the pecking order, he should have retired.

Between Saad, Newy, Cowan, Doc and the two wings, there’s a good mix to pick off some ground balls and support the talls in the air. I think Cowan & Carroll will be really good in support of Doc’s def-mid role & there’s a strong case for an extra tall at Newman’s expense.

By my reckoning, Williams and Walsh are the only two walk up starts missing from the side. Cottrell is probably ahead of O’Brien & the two draftees, so he’s possible a third.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the opening month. The difference between this year’s injuries and last year is that this time around, the cavalry are the outside runners.

Excuse my potential ignorance. I understand this game is free entry, so do you just rock up on the night?

Good question.

Its out at Blacktown.
There's a portable building whose role is ticketing near front gate.
They can't sell you a ticket...so I guess you walk straight in.

We are, unless we hear otherwise.

Thanks Bondi. I've never been to the ground there. Do you happen to know a good spot to sit?

I havent been for a few years but not much wouldve changed.
reminds me of a Melbourne suburban ground, or even like Rye Footy ground where the cars can park around the ground, but don't in this case.
Grass hill surrounding the ground.
Usually the weather is good in Sydney for footy.
Have to consider it can get a bit hot sitting in the sun all day

Best spot is where you want it to be. Easy to move around.

Also note, its 70 minutes from the city by car. Its a long way out.
Only have gone there a couple times to watch Carlton train and play a praccy game.

Chances are the stand will be full.
Bring a rug and sit on grass .
