Yep. Good reasons to do so too. Why keep the opposition in the loop?

Pretty sure in this day and age the opposition know who is injured and who isn't.

Players talk. People talk. The industry is connected.

I think you're right. They may not know the extent of the injury.

True unlikely they'd no the extent but reckon they'd have a fair idea if a player will play against them or not.

To be honest do they really care nowadays with the game the way it is played. I'm sure all options are discussed during the week so that any eventuality is covered. That's one of the advantages of being full time, professional.

I think I read that he had surgery on Tuesday. Given the match was on Fri, I think most likely he got a minor injury during the game but upon investigation they discovered the full extent. I doubt they would have held over the surgery until Tuesday if they’d known about it on
Fri or even Sat. (Unless he wanted a specific surgeon who was unavailable over Easter).
IMO, I think on this occasion, we played with a straight bat.
Given his history, I’ll take it as a win.

Also, I don’t want to jinx anything so I will not mention his name but I am quietly amazed that another player, who is turning out to be quite important to our setup, has remained on the park for 4 consecutive games! Was not expecting that…

I breath a sigh of relief for every game that Charlie gets through. It got to the point where I really doubted he'd ever get back on the park.

As for that other player who we don't want to jinx. Four games in a row! Who woulda thunk it. You keep waiting for a hamstring to ping.

Great news Boyd and Cottrell back training and available in 2-3 weeks time.

No mention of Cuningham's calf. Will he play this weekend in the VFL? Owies hammy I guess is another week.

Marchbank is a TBC...WTF is that after 4-5 weeks off. Its a 6 week injury or has he lost a leg.
Too long with too little information. I just want him ready for back up incase/when Gov breaks down.
After this season, its up to Austin where his future lies.

Here's the latest on five Blues on the injury front.

Jordan Boyd (foot) – full training, available in 1-2 weeks.
Matthew Cottrell (foot) – full training, available in two weeks.
Sam Docherty (knee) – underwent surgery for a meniscus tear this week. Expected to be available in 4-6 weeks.
Caleb Marchbank (calf) – will integrate back into skills next week.
Matt Owies (hamstring) – expected to be available in Round 8.

No mention of Cunningham. I’d say “no news is good news”, but…..

Round 8 for Owies. Must have been a decent tear.

I reckon Voss will want to get Boyd into the team sooner rather than later. We do lack a bit of run out of defence.

We’ve got the third best rebound rate in the comp.

Unless he wants to be a defensive forward again, Boyd will struggle to get a game without injuries.
