Madness.

I was at the concert. I believe there were boards covering the oval but because they were there for too long the grass died and had to be replaced.

I guess, a week and it'll go brown pretty quick.
A couple of handfuls of nitrogen should've fixed it........
Haven't they got the plastic/rubber grid stuff that they use for grass surfaces to keep it alive under heavy foot traffic?

Just wanted to point out that whilst far from ideal, we are far from the worst club in terms of injuries ATM.

This is true, but give it a week or so.

St Kilda is worse, anyone else? Keeping in mind that two of ours are "season" and a few more that could be months away.

85 players across the whole comp will not line up this weekend due to injuries
A tad under 5 per club average
We have 7
Can’t really use injuries as an excuse

Ours isn't looking tooooo bad I suppose. There's a lot of short to medium term on there.

I'm a bit more concerned about the number of players we'll be fielding tomorrow who've had interrupted/managed summers.

And I'm still gutted about Williams

I’m not hearing people using injuries as an excuse. I’m hearing people lament that our injury management and prevention record over recent years (not just this year) hasn’t been good enough. Compounding that is our questionable depth.

I don’t see those as excuses, I see them as areas we need to improve - and fast.

It’s a very even competition and unfortunately I think we’re still one of those sides who need almost everything to go right to make it deep in September. I’m not yet convinced we have the depth, resilience and talent spread to challenge without a better-than-average run with injuries.

The way I see it is Walsh and Williams really the only sure things who are unavailable.

Some other teams:
Fritsch, Viney, Salem, May in doubt for the Dees
Zorko, Gardiner out for the Lions
ESS: Cox, Reid, Stewart, Stringer and Heppell in doubt
Hawkins, Henry for the Cats, Duncan underdone
Tigers: Tarrant, Soldo and Gibcus out and likely Short out as well, Prestia under a cloud and I think Lynch is underdone
Kangas missing Ben McKay, Coleman-Jones, Wardlaw, Zurhar in doubt
Sydney missing Ryan Clarke and Hickey
West Coast missing NicNat and maybe Yeo
Matt Crouch out for Adelaide
Lipinski out for the Pies
Mitch Lewis out for the Hawks
