And don’t sack the senior coach before his contract is up
Do that and you tread water as we have done for 23 years
Stay the course

Something along those lines

There is a picture taken this morning at training of Motlop. He doesn't appear to have any strapping on his calf. He is with the rehab group but what is a little concerning is Cerra is there too.

Cheers.
Carlton having so many injuries has made me a bit paranoid.

C Durdin Kemp Cunners Fogarty trained with main group. I should point out that it was a very minimal contact session.

Boyd ran a few laps & went in early

Cripps moved without any problems

No Charlie

Harry & Jack Martin had a leisurely stroll & mainly did set shots

Motlop did seperate handball drills in a group that had Mcgovern Marchbank Cottrell & maybe Philp. Not sure if Motlop will play, spent most of the session on the northern wing just doing light stuff. And wore a hat, backwards.

Walsh moved really well, looked great. Trained with the main group for about half the session then did laps.

I just read that elsewhere. Not sure how match fit Durdin will be though.

Yeah not sure I'd be prepared to go in with both Durdin and Martin and MC seem keen on playing Martin.

Did Motlop train with the main group? The only image I have seen shows he was with the rehab group. Getting proof of Motlop's training is akin to Elvis sightings.

So are these guys actually fit for selection?

Motlop - see previous Elvis sighting
C.Durdin - some saying he is cherry ripe, I will believe it when I see it
Marchbank - who the @#$%&! knows !!
Kemp - last seen hitch hiking along the Taiwanese coast
Newman - missed the last game, presumably due to training loads ? Or another one of these mysterious Carlton ailments
Martin - should be available for selection bec played VFL
McGovern - should be available for selection bec played VFL ... club saying they have a decision to make but I'd be surprised if he doesn't play (let's face it, the fact they are umming and erring is bec they don't trust his body!)
Cuningham - some posters are saying he trained the other day, but I suspect he was in the rehab group with Motlop and Amy Winehouse

Of those, I think Martin and McGov will play, as you’ve suggested. I reckon they’ve been managed to get to the start line ready but not overly risked.
I wouldn’t say Durdin looked ‘Cherry ripe’ b/c you couldn’t really say that from the type of training they were doing. But he seemed to be running freely. Cunningham was running around and didn’t look particularly troubled but then his risk is all about contact so, again, couldn’t tell. I imagine he will need to do a bit of strengthening work on his shoulder before we put him on the park with so much at stake club and for his career.
Who knows re Marchbank but my feel is that he comes back via the VFL.
And, as I posted in the game thread, I wouldn’t risk Motlop if there’s any doubt about his calf b/c (a) calves can be tricky and appear ok when fragile, and (b) the difference between Martin/Motlop/Owies is not that different at this stage to Martin/Owies/Durdin (or even Honey) as to warrant the risk. But if he’s absolutely fine, then fine :-).

Yep good summary

Here's what I saw, player by player

Motlop - Did handballs with the rehab group, then moved to the Gardiner Stand wing for some one on one
C.Durdin - Trained well, ran at pace
Marchbank - Rehab group just at the start then went in
Kemp - Trained well with the main group, not sure if he was there the whole session
Newman - Trained fully
Martin - For the most part did set shots with Harry
McGovern - Rehab group just at the start then went in
Cunningham - Trained well, non contact drills

They have their main session tomorrow

Shout out to Nate Caddy.

Trained with us for a week & will miss the first 4-6 weeks of his draft year.

You think it would've been easier and cheaper to cover the ground with boards or something of the sort to protect it pre-AFL season.
Madness.

Mental….!

kindest regards tommi

look…I’m no expert on the growing of grass…
sure I’ve got a lawn…and a roof cavity…but
hoping the 10 days good weather we’ve had…
will really help it bind…!

they run a synthetic grass through the base
these days too…fingers crossed it goes well….!

four games in a row…interesting…!
