You sure? I don't think the calenders align until 2025.

Orthodox easter is 16 April 2023 - a week after "Catholic" Easter

Greek Orthodox Easter 2023 is on 16 April, a week after Catholic Easter 2023.

FWIW - Orthodox Easter and Catholic Easter do not align again until 2025.

I take it all back. Well played AFL

Yeah it's a bit shit for us. Not a neutral game, and aren't tickets free? They'll be impossible to get.
I assume it counts as an interstate trip though.

I'm not so fussed by the draw.
The easier the fixture, the greater the challenge in September.
The tougher the fixture, the better prepared we'll be in September. At least until we play a few finals series and develop that hardened finals experience (like Geelong has for example).

If we play the Crows in Rd 5 then it is likely we play them twice which would be a bonus - I like our chances of beating them in Melbourne. At the moment it appears that we will play the following teams twice: Collingwood, Richmond, North and Adelaide. Hopefully the Hawks and West Coast join that list.

The only aspect of the draw I’m interested in is the day/time of the games from a fan perspective - ie. I like attending Saturday arvo & night games more than Sunday twilight, for example.

I’m not bothered about how many times we play certain clubs etc because (1) we don’t know until at least a month into the season who is good and who isn’t that year; and (2) we need to become a team that wins anywhere, anytime against any opposition.

For me, injuries are a more critical factor than the draw.

They are probably learning from the first nrl magic round that had a dud opening game on thursday night that from memory was quite poorly attended.

Just got an email from the club regarding gather round.
As a member I am entitled to a complimentary ticket. Tickets are subject to availability and go on sale Monday 12th December via ticketek from 12.30pm.

If the poster on BF is correct we play Geelong in round 2. Our home game I think.

I like the fact we are first up on a big occasion on a special week.
I hate the fact we are playing a home team in what is meant to be a equal playing field round.
We just can’t win.

I agree, but then if we're any good we beat the Crows anyway

If true, aren't we supposed to only get one top 6 team twice?

Not sure about that.
I know there is a formula for how often teams play each other twice.
I think it may be once or twice, but I may be wrong.
I am sure someone will be able to find out.

When there is 22 games -you play 5 teams twice I think the rule is

1. At least 2 and at most 3 from your group of 6 teams (in our case finishing 9th, 2 or 3 of the teams that finished 7-12)
2. At least 1 and no more than 2 of the other groups of 6 teams. So we could in fact play 2 of last year's top 6.

Cheers for that.
I knew there was a maximum you could play other teams outside the group you finished in.
So, if looks like we may have to play the maximum.
