Voss has been the most impressive first year coach for a long time, forget McRae he has taken over a very experienced and mature side with well drilled defensive skills. We are finally on the right track and I just pray the Voss gets a better run with injuries next year to show what he can really do

spot on, i dont understand why everyone things the pies are young ... with the exception of a few really good kids, they are basically the same side that played in a GF a few years ago, and a side the relies heavily on that experience talent at times ...

i think the turn around has been outstanding, and im already looking forward to what can be done in year 2 and year 3 ...

but, having said that, we also have a huge opportunity in front of us (and considering our start to the season) so its going to be a hard pill to swallow if we dont make finals this year ...

i so what this group to get the experience of finals (last night was as close as it will get) and again next week against the pies ...

Might have to add Stevic to the Williamson list.
14 to 5 Melbourne way the other two 9-8
Frees from Stevic resulting in goal 5-1

Watch next week
Umpires Williamson Stevic Elani

the fix was in, and it was in early ...

someone suggested it earlier, but the amount of times viney was being tackled, drop the ball ... play on ... was obsurd.

im still not convinced that goal was touched ... just seem like every little decision, went the demons way ... but perhaps that my blue glasses on.

but do you know what, dont give me this shit that umpires dont make a difference ... right or wrong, they do ... 26 free kicks to 13 is a huge difference, and has a direct impact on the result.

we still put ourselves in a position ot win, and we should have held on IMO, that wasnt the umprires doing, but dont say their impact doesnt have a huge influence

Was it my imagination, or did Walsh get his head slammed in to the turf when tackled by Viney, early in the first quarter (would have been near the boundary, Members' side, towards the Punt Rd end)?

Yes, he certainly did.
Holding the ball was paid.

Gutted to lose but after a good nights sleep I see many positive things moving forward. Bring that effort we can beat the Pies

how the F#@K did you get a good nights sleep after that result?
I know!! Mine was terrible! Took ages to fall asleep and kept waking up.

Same as me.

He may have too.
Walsh was tackled head first into the ground early in the game and was paid holding the ball.

Week after week I keep reading 'we'll learn from this'...

Well done boys. Respect.

Next week.

Well said. Anyone trying to pin the loss on an individual player or moment needs to step back and respect the effort all the boys made tonight.

Just as Trent Cotchin is coming towards the end of his career, the umpires have their new pet in Jack Viney as a ready made replacement.

I am watching the Sunday Footy show and they just showed the final 2 minutes.
So many dumb errors were made. How in the hell did we allow Melksham to mark that ball?

We couldn’t of butchered the last few minutes more if we tried. Why it hurts so much.

To have played so well, with many first choice players out, against the reigning premiers, with finals on the line, only to give it away….

Dont think I’ll get over it. Keep replaying it all over. Can’t get it out of my head. Literally a living nightmare.

Much like being at Subiaco the night of the 2011 semi final.

Utter heartbreak. Shattered.

Owies misses a simple kick.

Three on one on the wing and they spoil the ball out of bounds - no organisation.

Shouldn't be.

We gave the game away in the end. Instead of playing kick to kick when we had possession, we kicked to contested packs. Not for the first time.

Don't blame the team, blame the coaches. Although the miskicks are unforgivable.
