We gave the game away in the end. Instead of playing kick to kick when we had possession, we kicked to contested packs. Not for the first time.

Don't blame the team, blame the coaches. Although the miskicks are unforgivable.

The lack of composure collectively in this team is mind boggling. The effort was huge tonight but we just shit the bed at the end.

As soon a Stocker missed that kick to Saad you just knew what was coming. The prospect of being put out by Collingwood next week is sickening

The Owies backpass to Saad was very lazy.

We played well.. Good structures and play... Didn't allow loose Lever or Hibberd...
We played dumb footy at certain times and the last 2 minutes were typical of that..
We dominated the last... and never played tempo footy.... resulting in giving back the ball all too often...INCLUDING at the death

Shocking umpiring non decisions... If our tackles stuck... Zip... Nothing... Just drop or throw the ball and play on?? And to rub salt one free ended up being because the player was held?? WTF (Setters on Viney) Cripps clearly held and pulled off the ball.. Nothing....
Spoiling and hitting the point post is deliberate but handballing into the point post isn't??

We also got killed in centre clearances... Clean take aways vs rushed when we got one... Very costly in the last...

Haven’t been able to sleep. Keep replaying the last few mins in my head. A living nightmare.

Brutal @#$%&! way to lose. With what was at stake. We couldn’t of [REDACTED] it up more if we tried.

I hope we can bounce back and bring that level of effort and intensity again. If the players are anything like me, it’ll be the opposite. Just about broken.

The effort was fine - we bring that against Adelaide and we win - it shows you can’t be conditional with effort - the vinegar and salt for last nights result was washed away by going to the Sunnyboys gig at at Corner Hotel - but this still hurts a lot.

Might have to add Stevic to the Williamson list.

That's just nonsense. They tried to maintain possession but Owies kick missed the target and we were forced to kick under pressure.
The coaches did a great job. Reduced the effectiveness of Oliver, Lever and Langdon.
Despite playing the "best ruck combination in the AFL" and the supposed best midfield, we won the centre clearances and stoppage clearances with a ruckman that was being well beaten.
The strategies we went into the game with were mostly excellent.

I tried to stop my quivering lip by jumping in bed and focus on my wife's pleasures.

I couldnt sleep properly and when I'd wake up I'd cuss, and my wife would ask "what's wrong? Talking in your sleep?"....and I'd just say ..."that last kick with 11 seconds to go...7 points up, 2 minutes to go....how...why...why didnt the ump pay throwing the ball to Oliver...why why"

I thought he had a great game. Expect him to get the top votes on Brownlow night.
